Big Pink map, sometimes with features
I have compiled and had this map work several times. Now, with without the feature map, instead of a texture I get all pink ground. About 50% of the time, it will toss in trees and geo-vents. I am assuming that the texture file is broken, which would just suck. Thing is, it loads and tells me what I want to hear in GIMP, EMB, paint etc...12288x12288 bitmap, 24 bit. Metal is 1537, height is 1537, features is 1536. I also tried it via a metal map that was 768 as one other map tutorial suggested. Nada. Please help me figure out why my map is pink.

Don't EVER rename the .smt file after you compile it. You can rename the smd and the smf and as long as those 2 match your map will work, but do NOT rename the smt.

Thanks Foreboding, that was so totally the issue. I am uber happy now.
When I get this all down, I think I think I'll throw up a TS Faq. :)
And no, other guy, i don't really need holes in my map, but I will be posting a multi part question regarding one I don't want.
