True, if you move the camera you see its faked, breaking the ilusion... but the only working alternativ is to let the orbitals ring vannish in foggy atmosphere, clouds hiding its beginning and end, preferable over ocean (difficult to guess the distance over water). I hate the let the ring vannish beneath the surface, i never understood how people could see that as realistic even in a shooter, were you dont get the camera moved that mutch in relation to the skybox. Another problem is that atmospheresky.. usually the more air the light wents thru the more lighter colour the blue. Thats why directly above you a summersky looks darkblue, and lightblue-whitish on the horizon.
