OMG :!: The movies are incredible, and Spring is better and better.

Transferred from General Discussion forum

Some time ago, M3G made TLL scripts with wake animations to improve movement of NS (Naval Service) missile towers, Seaplane platforms etc.

Ive ported this effect to all OTAs/new models in my TA Mod and intend to include it in the Spring version, that now Im priorizing to finish.
Also I had an idea. Planes when landed in seapads will make wakes due the impact, and Zwzsg made the script for me completing the set.
Along with the seaplanes, still not capable for submerge, is it will be possible to implement platforms that make foam/waves when up and down and NS defences producing waves when turning their turrets and when shot due the recoil?I already made all scripts for this and they work very well.

You notice that in supreme commander, the water is flat, but simulate waves by the reflections. Soon, spring will have water deforming, that even Sur-C doesn't have! increddible!

Don't say this only runs on the newest nVidia series?

Looks awesome!

..except that some scale-affecting variable needs to be tweaked, the big shot shows as if the whole battle was miniatures in a bathtub... I don't know what it is exatcly or much about fluid dynamics but sure there are some parameters?

Also as someone suggested, a small wave texture/shader would be useful to break the surface with small waves to make it more believable.

Alantai, that will take another 6 month to develop. and just for people who doesn't have the ahrdware for the deforming... (hey, you can code C++)

I think (and I am affraid) it requires a nVidia 6600 or better.

bamb: Yes I have to agree that it looks small scale although im not 100% sure exactly why. Probably because the waves adds up lineary too well, in which case im not sure how to fix it.

No one noticed the new movie of it btw ?

This fallback path you are talking about, should be 3-5 times faster, but isn't at the moment. Is there any way to increase this? So ppl on 9x00 cards can enjoy somewhat too?

I can't see the movie thanks to my schools "block everythign that has the word game in it randomly" content protecter, but the screens look cool. Will people with lower end video cards be able to swich to the old water rendered?
Not that I'm worryign about it, my ATI Radeon 9600 128mb should be able to run it...I hope.

just watched the video and its impressive. it looks like the waves don't affect the ship's movements, is that correct?

im not saying its a bad thing, i would say its good since we don't have to worry about unsyncing games because of this. i imagine that if it did, there would have to be a lot more communication between PC's so that the ones without the render know whats going on.
