I know that the developers of zero-k have implement their own and I would like to get an idea of what function should be able to provide to them.

It's a serialization framework that semi-automatically enables you to save/load the engine state.

Oh great, I have to figure out a resource system in respect to MAPS! The current one is hardcoded, I don't know if that's something that a game dev should taken care of when it comes to resource maps.

Is the resource map something that is taken care on the game devs end or do I have to figure out the genetic version of it?
