spastic is a pretty offensive word here.lurker wrote:And, uh.. spastic? Jew? What is with this list?
also agreed about bugger off being pretty inoffensive and making perfect sense in context
hahahahahaha this is amazing. For instance, within the Anglo-Indian community in India the word "bugger" has been in use, in an affectionate manner, to address or refer to a close friend or fellow schoolmate.

You can't please everyone, fact of life.
Something perfectly fine to one person is not to another, applies to so many things.

Huh. Interesting.
I wouldn't rename it, but it isn't my decision.

You should check that leaked windows source code on the pirate bay sometime, it's not exactly squeaky clean. If Microsoft can't keep code clean, what are Linux people to do?
Curiously, "buggery" is actually a felony in the UK and basically refers to Japanese culture as a whole. You don't even WANT to know what spastic jew buggery refers to.
(are they still called that or have they changed their name again? Great UK? United Britain? England? Identity crisis much?)

Really? I mean, c'mon. Really?
Re: Swear words in method names
We were known as the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and this lasted from 1801 to 1922, at which point the irish gained independance and the title changed to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
We've been known as the UK since 1801, prior to which we where known as the kingdom of Great Britain, although althroughout the period of that name, the country could also be referred to as the United kingdom of great britain or the UK.
So officially keeping the title of the UK for 208 years is pretty nifty, and unofficially for 302 years...

So where the hell did "England" come from then? And what's the point of calling yourself "United Kingdom" when everyone from each island wants to murder everyone from the other islands? It would be like calling a mod which has nothing to do with TA "CA".
Re: Swear words in method names
Prior to the kingdom of Great Britain there was the kingdom of Scotland, and the kingdom of England. All residing in the region known as the british isles, or Britain.
England had conquered wales previously. A set of events turned about whereas the monarch of scotland was also the monarch of england. So the single monarch was king or queen of two countries, each with their own parliaments. The two countries where unified to become the kingdom of Great Britain, and the 2 crowns and parliaments were replaced with a unified singular system.
Northern Ireland is the regions of Ireland that remained in the union after the republic of Ireland gained independence as a sovereign state. Ireland too was conquered by the british like wales was. For long periods the state also held control of large swathes of northern france including Normandy prior to the colonial expansion.

Whatever you say. I still think it's just an excuse for "you people" to get to say "Eeeenglinnd".
Re: Swear words in method names
We don't pronounce it that way, only the US spoofs of our accent do that.
