Where is Trepan?

Any idea where he is?

Some RL issues or what?

We need Trepan to keep improving engine and adding new stuff! :)
Bring him back!

After the giant series of commits last month, I'm not at all surprised that he's gotten worn out and is maybe doing something else for awhile.

Happens to everybody. Hopefully he's not done with Spring, but meh, we can all be grateful for what he's done already- it's taken Spring into whole new areas of awesome, and realized some of my earliest hopes for this project- I was the first person to bring up LUA as the choice of scripting language, back in the ancient times (it's a little scary- I and the other content people have outlasted every major developer- I guess we get bored at a different rate)... the irony that I still suck at working with it is grating, to be sure

hmm, I've outlasted almost everybody. Does that make me old?

Dunno about old... you're just a youngster still, compared to old fogeys like myself. Still, Spring's now... er, over 3 years old, and still getting cooler.

I still haven't seen anything like this available elsewhere, so it's almost entirely unique- maybe the Internets just can't support more than one cutting-edge OS game project of this complexity at once...

Pretty darn neat, to be here, really. Even with the occasional hassle and all of our monster egos ;)

I think you'll find every other mid sized free RTS project thinks exactly the same thing.

I don't see any mid-sized RTS projects with this many ongoing large games being developed, or the quality that the engine has, tbh. It's not that I haven't looked around- almost everything else is very crude, is a small team's very specific game design, or is an engine project with no clear path towards content being developed.

After I get done with PURE, I am strongly considering doing something new- I really want to get an OS Freelancer clone built...

I should have took screenshots of me playing spring before it was released with the SYs for bragging rights.

HUGE IMAGE
You need to thumbnail that. There's no way posting a 1680x1050 image is ever going to work on most people's monitor since they'd need 1920x1200 or 2048x1536 to display it properly plus it takes forever to load.

If you're going to crap on a thread use a terrible / funny image, not a big one. Big images are annoying, not funny and aren't particularly effective.
