it's pretty clear it's a bugged widget that causes memory soaking since .95 release, never had this problem..
That's not clear e.g. it could be a cumulative effect of the engine not cleaning up memory properly that gets worse with the more widgets you have. But in either case trying to isolate the cause is a good thing.

OMFG IT STILL IS SOAKING UP MEMORY! Now I have disable all widgets, and try to spec a tech annihilation game, it soaks up memory still...
In demo mode the problems seemed to dissapear :(

what is going ON :(

It seems to soak memory a little less fast, but that's a technicality...
anything more I can turn off?

Hmmm i am not sure if it's fixed or not, but now the memory is hanging stable ... on a different map i used /luarules disable command too...

sounds like your mod of choice has some lua issues. did you try a different mod?

It's not the mod - I get this issue on one laptop but not the other, and multiple mods have had cases of it. Seems like its some combination of something in 95 + particular hw/sw.

I got the same pb (since 2009 I play never saw that) on BA Chicks V3.06.
PC under Linux totally out of control, I couldn't open a new login on another TTY. I had to reset.

I tried to watch those two demos that were on mantis and I didn't have any mem leaks. But after I enabled unit_healthbars the private bytes increases rapidly. Maybe it coincided with more units being built.

Anyway, spring took from 600 mb at load to 800 mb at 30 mins and 1.2 gb at 60 mins. How much is expected anyway?

Firefox by comparison uses the same amount by just keeping one tab with cnn open. But it has a memory leak, everyone knows that. Btw, in spring lua only used about 6 mb of memory.
