Save and load singleplayer games

I love Spring but I don t know how I can save and load a savegame?
I love Singleplayer and I love hugh and long battles but I must saving my games because I must do other things. Please help me!

What game do you play?
I have a Lua based savegame solution, but it needs some files to be adapted and added into the game data.

I had made this for an earlier version of Spring. Not sure how well it works under current Spring version, since current Spring version can't load for me.

Sadly does not work at the moment, changes to engine broke it:

Thanks for trying but the anti-fail measure ".smf in mapname yes/no" thing made it fail.

Other errors are fixed in BA already:

[f=0000000] [widgets.lua] Error: Error in Initialize(): [string "LuaUI/Widgets/unit_healthbars.lua"]:136: 'for' limit must be a number

[f=0000000] Warning: WeaponDef (armlatnk_weapon) color1 & color2 (= hue & sat) are removed. Use rgbColor instead!

[f=0000000] Warning: WeaponDef (repulsor) isShield is removed. Use weaponType="Shield" instead!
..and so on..


[f=0000000] <DefenseRange> Unsupported Game, shutting down...maybe because your mod version does not have the same name as BA?

Hm, maybe make it as mutator?

Aww, sad indeed. Well, for solo play, I guess older engine version could be used :

That BASP mod should work with something like 91.0

Hm, maybe make it as mutator?
So that it breaks not only when engine change, but also whenever BA change?

Assuming the Lua doesn't break like under Spring 94, there should be a menu when you press esc.

I m under Spring 94, but when I press esc and shift came the normal menu. Are you sure that s not work on 94. It s not a problem because I can change to 91. I have an other quetion: When I have Spring 91 what I must press? esc + shift or only esc? And how I can load my savegames when I saved it so? And where I save this document in lua rules or games?

Where are you from?

My menu code does not load in Spring 94. So it does not work in Spring 94.

Two possibilities:
- Use Spring 91
or
- Wait (maybe forever) that I fix my code

I m from Switzerland. I downloaded and saved the document in C:\Program Files (x86)\Spring\games.

In 91.0 the menu works (just start spring.exe, select BASP (not the normal BA!)) then play. ESC for some load/save menu.
The buttons are big, rectangular and colorfull, hard to miss.

Saving seems to work.
Though loading the game did not work. There were no units and it was stuck at "chose start pos"

So that it breaks not only when engine change, but also whenever BA change?
hm true. idea was that you would not have to worry about copying the changes that BA does to adapt to engine. (ie fixing healthbars widget)

It's not your fault. Because of changes in the engine, something went wrong in my widget, which caused my menu to not load. So instead of my colorful widget menu, you got the dry hard coded engine menu.

Yes, you must download spring 91.0
Then press ESC (not shift ESC) to show the menu.
But as I posted, the menu will *show* but loading did not work for me.

If the menu still does not show with spring 91.0:

YES, I can save my games but I can t load my savegames. When I loaded

Crashed how?

If Spring just closed down when you clicked the button to load, it's because the command Spring.Restart is temperamental and refuse to work for some people. Or that I am using it wrongly.

If Spring crashed with an errorbox, then maybe uploading your infolog.txt to http://pastebin.ca could help use see what went wrong.

I pressed load and Spring crashed and came no message spring crashed.l It crashed for no reason.
