Users and resellers of RAV AntiVirus, popular especially on Linux platforms, are in limbo after Microsoft Corp. announced plans to buy the RAV technology from Romania's GeCAD Software Srl.
The RAV product line will be discontinued after Microsoft completes the acquisition of the technology, Microsoft said. ...

RAV Direct Sales have been ceased (Date: 2003-08-29)
Due to the aquisition of RAV├â┬ó├óÔÇÜ┬¼├óÔÇ×┬ós IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) by Microsoft Corp., GeCAD Software SRL is currently engaged in a strategic reorganisation of their operations, involving the scaling down and eventual discontinuance of the anti-virus related business.

As part of this process starting with 3rd of September 2003, the direct sales (including the e-store) have been closed down.
RAV product registration ceased on December the 15th, 2003 (Date: 2003-12-16)
As previously informed, RAV AntiVirus products registration is no longer available since December 15, 2003. According to RAV product License Agreement, all new users were required to register within 7 days since receiving the registration code (RC).

Thank you.
And people think Microsoft haters are just spoiled prats!

I even don't like micro$oft easy money policy.
But we have no real choice.
Every new computer comes with windows, so every developer, who wants to earn money, will only make programs for it.

Exactly! This was a purchase, not a hostile takeover.

Maybe they sold out, but when Micro$oft want your technology just so they can stop people using it, I expect the first offer you get wil be the best.

I haven't even played Halo2, but that's not the point. The point is that microsoft payed bungie to release it to xbox, and delay the PC release.. They cut loads of features too..
