New AMD ZEN

Post by Senna »

Ive seen a test where they test AMD zen 8 core 16 threads vs intel i7 6900k both stock at 3 ghz disabled turbo, and zen was faster.

I know its a bit early and blender can be manipulated since is open source GNPL

And as an AMD fan im not sure this chip will be cheaper than i7 chips, i think both will be same price or around that since they worked and spend money to do an totally new architecture. But what im looking if an 14nm from i7 6900k can run at 4ghz estable. AMD also love use theyr cpus to its limits or reach over the limits of them.

I would love an processor like that reaching 6ghz 8c/16t. and stay stable heating very low, that will be amazing:)

I do not care about beating intel at performance, I care about beating intel at price-point.
No one wants a intel monopoly.

Well mario, be sure this amd wont be cheap at all, both will be around same price, AMD wont sell something cheaper when they spend alot of money.

But i hope they keep on lower prices...

The best aspects seem to be their multithreaded performance, price and energy efficiency. This is in stark contrast to their vega cards that are excellent in everything but efficiency.
