StarCraft II World Championship Series UK National Finals
At the end of this month (30th June & 1st July) is the WCS UK Finals at the BAFTA venue, London. Should be a good experience if anyone feels like coming to spectate, tickets for entry are free but are available on a first come first served basis (through facebook).
It's hosted by Blizzard and casted by Tasteless and Artosis (casters may be a bigger draw than the players!), 16 of the best UK players have qualified for it over the last few months through 8 open qualifiers. The prize pool is $15,000 and top 3 qualify for the European finals. If you're in the area at the time, consider coming along to watch some sub-korean level Starcraft 2 play!

I'm a little far from London. Any word on if it will be live streamed?

Re: StarCraft II World Championship Series UK National Finals
Might try and make this one. I was at i45 last month but was only there on the Sunday and no trains ran after 11pm so couldn't get to see any SC2 You played the day before or w/e so would've missed you anyway if you were playing on the stage so meh :<
Me and Sheep been playing a lot of SC2 lately, only 2v2's though. Just got to #1 in Gold league for Season 8 :D

It is this weekend! Going to be travelling down in a few hours, never trained for a tournament as much as this before - going to be tough. Tune in from midday (BST) Saturday :) not sure the exact stream link but it will be listed on http://www.teamliquid.net around the time it goes live on the right hand side next to the calender under the title "WCS UK"
If I remember/get a chance I'll make a shout-out to the Spring community.

If you don't mind me asking randy, is this a profession thing or a very expensive hobby?
Re: StarCraft II World Championship Series UK National Finals
Well this events costing me next to nothing, Blizzard are paying for all the players travel costs + hotel and providing us with meals. In the past I've been on a team that paid for my LAN costs and provided me with hardware peripherals.
Currently teamless through choice so no much such support, an event like this would probably set me back around £200 if I had to pay the costs myself, though the last place prize pays $250 so I would still go :)

Congrats to rANDY for winning the first one 2-0!
He should be up in the next match again.
Edit: my bad, they are casting a match in the losers bracket right now.

"i haven't seen much of him but he's got something special that could take him a long way"
intangibles just got quantified. let's see this, i logged in specifically to see rAndys match, and they didn't show him vs "phamut" (unless i missed it) so now i sit and wait

Yeah I dunno wtf happened, they casted a pretty weak match in the losers bracket instead.
That first DeMusliM vs JonnyREcco game was awesome though.

I looked on youtube and couldn't find anything except an interview with randy. If anyone finds recordings of the matches, link em here!

I was rooting for you and BlinG, sad to see you two go out so early. I'm not surprised DeMuslim and JonnyRecco got so far, but I'm surprised it wasn't one of them that took it in the end.
At least you weren't knocked out by Pureball

I missed all your games randy.
Enjoyed the way demuslim changed his play in reaction to previous games.
