What really bothers me, is not the 3d race, but how bad actually the contenct-creation software followed the advances. Im not talking about 3dsmax, but comoner-usable software like the spore-creature creator, or minecraft.
games are not content creation software though.
There is all this stuff of 3d scanning stuff (ie with lasers), like cars, planes, terrain, race tracks,...of course only works for things that actually exist.
Its not automatic (yet?) but a step from working with reference images (http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/7008 ... 0909pm.gif) and allows more detail/realism.
Imagine there was software, so that every nub could create a normal mapped everything in notime
First they made such software for text and then john was a zombie.
Then it was tried with web pages and finally video
I cant wait to see the games! :shock:

You know, im pretty sure there was caveman-art that was bad.. time took care of it. The bad things never last long.

geeze the one time I post a model with reference picture included ya'll pick on me :(. Considering the 100s of models I have done freehand :(

Yes, but its like in any good jrpg- go for the weakspot.

You ve just been analyzed smoth, and beeing no sepiroth, this one picture will be your downfall. ;)

still strikes me as a bunch of bullshit. ESP when they keep claiming that they can actually do unlimited ANYTHING on a computer...

There is some evil tripmines in this, otherwise they would let people use it handson on expos or in there company.

Now lets talk about some serious new 3dstuff like tesselation, or new shaders. Give them the ignorance they disserve.
