Re: Norway attack
i just wonder.. if somebody is atheist, does that automatically deactivate male-functioning brain Algos?
Or maybe some people are just drawn to simple ideologies, and take every concept, attract some psycho-pathetic leader and get bombing, no matter what?
Also, would it be considered terror, to take a pre-emptive saviour-shot on religious fanatics, who may run amok in a nearby future?

Gota you should back up your silly claims, you are extremely annoying.
Vast majority in my country are atheists - they follow no religion - they have no sacred book, no sacred person, no sacred diety. They have no god-given rules of moral judgement.
You cannot take say Dawkins as typical atheist. He is anti-religious one.
Most people just don't care, they should be called non-theists really, because "a-theists" which is the same is taken by dawkins and alike.

"Good people will do good things, and bad people will do bad things. But for good people to do bad things -- that takes religion." -- Steven Weinberg Nobel Prize in PhysicsLicho wrote:Atheisms is not religion, its just absence of religion. Also when you dont get any promise of afterlife or promise of god given good and wrong - its far less likely tou do such horror thing.
Re: Norway attack
I read that the suspected perpetrator wasn't religiously but politically motivated. More like a neo-nazi and an opponent of multiculturalism.
Religion in Europe isn't a big deal. No-one really cares what religion someone else has.

Anti-theists: Believe in actively opposing religion or beliefs in a higher power
Atheists: Believe there is no higher power, but generally aren't bothered by what other people think
Agnostics: Don't believe in higher power, but don't actively disbelieve either
But it's so much easier to blame everything on religion! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmwBPsB0oaEJools wrote:I read that the suspected perpetrator wasn't religiously but politically motivated. More like a neo-nazi and an opponent of multiculturalism.
Re: Norway attack
@ lucky, yes those are correct, at least is what we learnt in school. Or agnostis = don't care, but that's the same thing.
Re: Norway attack
Dawkins respects peoples other beliefs, but he demands the same respect for his lack of belief.
However he does not pay respect to the horrors and the absurdities of those beliefs that are imposed on others and inflicted on the innocent. That is what he attacks. He attacks the bullshit that is a pope visiting when heads of state who've done the same have been arrested for doing far less, extremism in school, the religious imperative to interfere in your life in the name of a deity you do not believe in, and the apologetic views that nonbelievers hold that undermine everything

Re: Norway attack
so... muslims are are group, and abortion doctors are individuals...
indeed that makes sense.. its also the same thing that makes things different when some islam extremist bombs individuals, in comparison to the colission of the good, which would only bomb groups, like muslims.
.. ima so lost i can't continue that one :/
the best way to keep the islamists out of the good nations, is to make living conditions generally worse then in their own countries. .. which is actually the trick they used themselfs to keep us out of their countries, even though they have more sunny days per year!
so.. it works!
the problem is just, how do we get our hard-working people to do bad, and much less work? i mean.. it should be pretty hard to make the good people work as poorly as the muslims, and what other way is there to make a countries living conditions bad? none!

Re: Norway attack
They can still keep him locked up after 21y if they want, they'll just have to re-evaluate his case after that time. That's what I read anyway.
Re: Norway attack
The news hasnt mentioned: is the suspect still alive?
Re: Norway attack
Isn't it ironic that this thread starts with an anti-muslim rant and then it turns out the killer hates muslims too?
We should always remember the internal threat from neonazis and their ilk. We must not give the nazis power just because we're slightly afraid of a foreign group.
Yes, the guy is alive.

Re: Norway attack
We have a lot of those that hate foreigners in Finalnd too, imo it has nothing to do with muslims, it's xenophobia.

Hallali, its Hippocritic huntingseason- now, we certainly have a human bug found there, the problem is how to patch. Any suggestions?Hoi wrote:http://www.salon.com/news/opinion/glenn ... index.html

Please dont put submit patches that have been proven as faulty before. Just because it sounds nice, or has honey smeared around your pride, doesent make it good society-code.

Re: Norway attack
This Washington Post Article is quite a good summary as well.
Looks like the attack was distinctly political, not really religious in motivation anyway. More Timothy McVeigh than Al-Qaeda. This does not detract from the fact that it was a horrible event caused by an obviously disturbed, ideologically-motivated individual (with possible accomplices).
