google, iirc leather armor & chainmail occupy the same slot, cant wear both at same time.

tried it, while vanilla doesn't have mail vests, but leather vest+mail shirt was possible to wear at once. So vests and shirts aren't mutually exclusive.

A Dwarf with lvl 11 swords skill and an iron katana should be 500 I think. Armour is for cowards :)

BATTLE 1
REGRET
A female elf with a well protected head and a superior chain whip. Weak armor elsewhere, but a few points invested into dodging. The steel whip should prove damaging, even through armor, but the weak defence and low dodging skill may prove a problem against an enemy with higher weapon skills.
A Kobold Wrestler relying upon prowess with teeth and wrestling. The extra 50 points allowed to Kobolds has allowed decent skill levels in both wrestling skills and dodging, in addition to a bronze shirt and helm. The main weakness of this gladiator is his small size: in the event of being charged by a larger opponent, he will most likely be knocked to the floor every time. Much wrestling is dependant on size and strength, making the chances of this gladiator debatable at best.
The two gladiators each rose from their stools as the horn sounded, and began to stalk toward eachother across the floor of the stone arena. Shriek hefted her Steel Chain Whip in delicate hands as she considered the strengths of her approaching opponent: small, quick and judging from the glint in his eyes, insane. Fistmurdered, A Kobold legendary in Kobold circles for taking up a difficult life of Wrestling instead of inheriting his fathers Large copper knife and lootbag, seemed to be weilding no weapon but his fists. In light of her heavy whip, Shriek thought this would surely be an easy battle.
The two fighters broke into a trot, then a run. Shriek drew back her whip and gave her characteristic battlecry, charging bodily at Boatmurdered. Here was a chance to use her greater size to slam the Kobold to the ground when their charges collided: a proud warrior would never shy away from receiving the first charge.

Shriek backed away from her dimutive opponent, clutching her arm. Boatmurdered slipped through my gaurd and just punched me in the arm like a schoolyard bully, she thought numbly. Was the Kobold so confident that it just toyed with her? She darted in to strike.

This time it was Boatmurdered who wheeled away, rubbing her thigh and eyeing the whip with some apprehension: it had still hurt through the chainmail. Shriek grinned, and span the whip above her head. The Kobold watched the heavy chain spin, entranced, and almost missed her lunging attack.

Shriek staggered back round, winded and increasingly humiliated that the Kobold Wrestler was hurting her without the use of Wrestling. Boatmurdered slapped her bicep and hooted. Shriek charged in so quickly that the Kobold was still taunting her when her shoulder slammed into its head:

Shriek strikes Boatmurdered in the left upper arm with the pommel of her steel chain whip, bruising the muscle through the bronze mail shirt!
The Boatmurdered is no longer stunned.

With the Kobold broken and unconcious at her feet, Shriek looked upto the stands, where her master Regret stood with a regal expression of distain. After a moment, he raised his arm, curled his hand into a fist, then stuck out his thumb. The arena went silent as the hand wobbled.. then jerked down- Death to Boatmurdered! Shriek gave a long, demented scream then dropped to her knees, bringing the heavy steel pommel of her whip down on the Kobolds head like a hammer.
Shriek strikes Boatmurdered in the head with the pommel of her steel chain whip, bruising the muscle, jamming the skull through the brain and tearing apart the brain!
Boatmurdered has been struck down!

Players can bet choose to bet 35 points betting on one player winning or the other: depending on the result this may increase their maximum points to 535 or decrease it to 465. Should their maximum point total change, they are expected to edit their Gladiators accordingly before they are next expected to fight, otherwise I will penalize their highest skill until they are of legal cost again.
