Re: Game of thrones
I also watched ep seven today, bad quality but still enjoyed it. I'm gonna go read the book now still have a few pages to go on the free kindle sample. I think it's growing on me. Characters are all very good and unique.
Re: Game of thrones
Yeah it really picked up in these last 2 episodes (6&7). So much actually that I'm really annoyed by having a 2 week wait now D:
Re: Game of thrones
I read 165 pages of the second book and i now think the most interesting part is about Theon and his sister..
And Tyrion is da man in the second book...at least so far...

Re: Game of thrones
hm just watched the first episodes.
First i was a bit sceptical, but its a lot of fun to watch.
The type of acting and language is similar to HBO ROME.
Dont you agree?

Re: Game of thrones
Episode 8 was quite good I thought. Almost all the characters are so well cast(with the exception of Cersei and littlefinger imo). I was hoping for Tyrion to get into his back-story this episode. We haven't really seen into the emotional side of tyrion in the show much, as far as I recall.

What's wrong with them? Not that I disagree, just curious.DavetheBrave wrote:Almost all the characters are so well cast(with the exception of Cersei and littlefinger imo).
What bothers me is how they neglected the wolves. They are supposed to be dire wolves, larger and meaner than normal wolves. But they used dogs. :/ Shouldn't be too expensive to conjure up some digital beasts these days I would think. Or maybe it would be.
Re: Game of thrones
Yeah the direwolves...They are suppose to be as big as horses later on...
If they dont plan on using a lot of CGI i have no idea how they'll manage to shoot the second book....
Tyrion's past is not mentioned and alot of stories about past events and other historical events were also neglected but there is only so much thye can include.
They seemed to have used cgi for The Eyrie's castle.
I do hope they'll make the direwolves more dire for the nect season otherwise it owuld be hard to explain the things they are able to do...
I also dont like the actor that plays littlefinger.
There is the matter of the age of the Stark kids but its very hard to find good teenage actors.

Well they are young direwolves, maybe they can grow and become bigger.

Re: Game of thrones
I find the tv Littlefinger to be too charismatic. In the books, to me he always came off as if he was bored to death by everything around him. No one outside of Catelyn believes that he could have ever loved. The actor plays him as this openly passionate character.Teutooni wrote:What's wrong with them? I feel like tv-Cersei on the other hand is portrayed as too calculated and controlled. Certainly in the books she is a schemer, but she also radiates sexuality and is very much ruled by her emotions.
Re: Game of thrones
Well whats true is that in the books there was never a part where littlefinger was in his whorehouses talking to whores...those scene are completely made up...
for some reason that whore in the tv series plays a significant part while in the book she does not exist(im talking about the one theon was doing that rode to kings landing and was in one of littlefigners whore houses in a scene with him).

Re: Game of thrones
Did someone die? >:]
By the way whan the Maester of the black keep tells how his oath was tested....
In the book he told about a few times during his life when he had to "choose" also when robert and Ned and all of them went to war with the targaryans He was not blind yet...
In the episode they make it as if he didnt actually have that much of a choice since what can a blind man do....but in truth he was still able and had his vision during that time.
Also, they changed Shae's character completely...
There was no drinking game in the book...
If i recall there was no mention of her past and Tyrion never even asked..
In the book she is 18 and not "Cercei" like, she is not cunning or very opinionated or anything like that....
I mea he is the uncle of the king and the second heir of the lannister family....
Also, bronn is never shown as Friendly like, he is always shown as what he is and placed in his place...a hired man, though he is cheeky...
If im not confused Tyrion tells his story to Bronn much earlier in the book.
I aint complaining or anything just saying that there is a difference between the book and series.
