Those manipulators or how they are called, I just threw one of my 30 frag grenades at them strangely they dont throw them back very often.

ALSO, someone tell me, whats the name of game which looks very similar to Settlers IV. player starts with few fat bois, collect sticks, rocks, make tents, etc etc. game reminds Settlers but its much slower (whats more, for example, military units far away from main camp starve)

oh u could have sex in the tent either!

Recently finished Fallout: New Vegas. Really liked it. Actually I didn't expect to like it that much since I basically hated original F3. But Obsidian did a great job at incorporating this old fallout-feel into the new package and although the ending (endings) left me a bit unsatisfied I think the game overall is great and a true F1, F2 follower. If you haven't played F3, don't bother, go straight for New Vegas.

omg haha i remember that show. my favourite robot was the one that was just a spinning axe; the close second being the one that looked like a ladybug (it was such a shitty robot that you just had to love it)

For all the HoMM lovers out there, a hardcore TBS inspired by civilization, master of orion (from what I've heard), Age of Wonders and Heroes of Might and Magic -> Eador: Genesis

I discovered this game only a week ago but apparently the original Russian version came out in 2009. An english version came out in early 2013. There is also a newer 3d version of the same game but from what I've understood the transition brought a lot of bugs and mistakes so one should stick to the original.

Has anybody played it? I'm still figuring it all out.

Whats special/different about the game:

You have one main castle you start out with, this is your base where you build everything and recruit your army. If it's captured you lose the game. Same goes for your enemies. You dont have to capture all their territories you only have to capture the castle.

Surprisingly the game is very RPG heavy. Heroes play a very important role, they participate in fights actively and can become very powerful. There are 4 classes of heroes. Fighter, Ranger, Commander and Mage. Figther is a 1-man-army, ranger is ranged and has a ton of useful skills, commander has the ability to get the biggest army. Once a hero hits lvl 10 you can chose for each one a specialisation out of 4 availible. For example a mage could become a necromancer or a battle mage, which would allow him to wield swords and carry heavy armor.

You have to pay your army every turn. So if you your income is low there is no point starting with a commander. each unit has tons of different stats and abilities. apart from the hp bar each unit has an energy bar (which deplets as he does actions or receives damage) and a morale bar. if you're facing a very though opponent with heavy armor and tons of damage it makes sense to equit yourself with fatigue spells and instead of trying to kill him deplete his energy first. at 5 or lower he loses tons of attack dmg and defensive stats at 0 he is unable to perform any action and has to wait a turn to regenerate energy. morale works in a similar way. if it reaches 0 unit will try to run away. it gets higher if unit kills somobody or lower if an ally dies next to the unit.

almost every unit has some kind of a special ability and the game in general is full of little nuances which are in most cases fully explained in the descriptions.

Check it out, tell me what you think.

I'm playing this since 2010 (original Russian version ofc), it's a great game. Takes time to master, and there are moments like just when you though you knew the game well, you see some tactic described on the forum and think "wtf how can he win this battle at all with such army, and he even had no losses!"

One thing it lacks is a network multiplayer. There is a MP menu, but it just does nothing (apart from hotseat mode which works). It's kind of possible to play it using vnc, teamviewer or some such of course.

Author said he started work on proper network support back in 2010, but it's still not there.

Another thing is that game window can't be any other size than 1024x768, so it you have a wide screen monitor, you may want to run it windowed (I prefer using fullscreen when possible)

Dear Esther is still my favorite experience (albeit short) in a game world (albeit not even technically a "game" by classical definitions.)

Hotline Miami is pretty great for a quick action/stealth/puzzle game.

Dishonored is great fun, but, I'll admit, the artstyle is a huge part of that for me.

The Void is decent. The whole "puzzle" (its really just resource management) aspect of the game can be frustrating but the world is interesting enough to keep going.

Penumbra Black Plague is fantastic, despite being somewhat old. (A huge issue in games that are primarily about immersion.)

Thank you Sir, for rising even higher in my esteem, allthough not thanks for making a hole in the roof in the process.

I wish more architects would design whole gameworlds- i think we all would benefit from there awesome, instead of having thousands of buildings that will be never built cramed back into deskdrawers, so that the next ugly quadratic monolith can be built, that is most costefficient.

I started replaying xcom : enemy unknown, its great fun, especially on ironman, but now i want to try out a new flavour and sadly the newer mods dont run on the version of the game i have. If you havent tried it yet, great game!

I tried eador, its nice but it seems to lack something that involves you in the game, like in heroes you were hooked from the first moment, here its just kind of meh.

I've played Amnesia, is there a reason to check out penumbra nevertheless?
