Spring RTS Engine

Back around when I first installed Steam, there was this HL2 mod called Alien Swarm: Infested. It was supposed to be coming out real soon.

Apparently what happened is the people working on it got hired by Valve and wound up working on projects like L4D and Portal 2. However, they're now freed up to put the finishing touches on Alien Swarm, and it's being called an official Valve game apparently.

It's being released this monday completely free. In related news, HL2: E3 vitriol has drained away somewhat.

Might work on Mac too, since it's a Source game. Not on Linux obviously.

No really, it pisses me that you're so hyped for an unreleased game while I never managed to motivate anyone to play the still awesome Alien Swarm as a UT2K4 TC with me.

I used to play a lot of AS1. No longer have UT2K4, alas. Was a great mod though. Possibly my favorite on that engine.

It has to be something you can play against each other.

and I have steam because of free games mostly.

Sure looks like a game I could sink my teeth into... and you can't argue with "Free but made by professional game developers".

It looks good. It says it comes with a "ship load of weapons" but I haven't seen any of these

Just go play one of the thousand deathmatch FPS out there while we enjoy our fine coop.

pffhh l4d is fun for about 30min because it gets boring killing mindles zombies.

It's for people who like teamwork

I wanted to chime in and say that I really enjoy co-op play in FPS. I have many good memories of Halo 1 and 2 with my friends. Now i'm doing the same thing with borderlands (btw if anyone wants to play send me a pm)
