The Mana World

Post by Wartender »

Well, i was bored and i started looking around for some nice free games, and i stumbled upon The Mana World (or TMW). It's a neat little mmorpg that's still in development (it's quite incomplete, but still very much playable). Has anyone else tried this? It's free ofc.

linky.

I'd love to have someone else to play with

well it's fairly straightforward, attack enemies, collect what they drop, gain levels, sell stuff, buy better stuff, etc.

The whole magic aspect is quite interesting though. You can only use magic after you've done a certain thing, and spells are cast by typing in the talk box. You acquire spells by talking to NPC's that give you spells, and you have to level up your magic by practicing it in order to use better/more powerful spells. There are different kinds of magic, but i'm not experienced enough in the game to talk about that.

as for the childish look, i don't really mind, the sprites are very well designed IMO, the trees in particular.

the squirrels make childish cute squeaky noises, which make you feel kinda bad when you kill them, cause they also make cute noises when they die =\ (you have to kill A LOT of squirrels)

This looks terrible, i cant believe you've bugged me to play this D:

Theres far better mmo's and i know why you've chosen this one, as it runs on your linux box.

Heres a tip, get windows, because your not doing anything constructive with your linux computer other than whinning about no games for it, kinda shot yourself in the foot really.

What a brilliant screenshot, not only does it look ugly from the offset, but are they really giving away large amounts of money for a guessing game, and even more, what soda hes drinking?

The other great part of this screenshot, gives me a taste of the community, half of them answer with drinks that arn't even sodas, so in conclusion, if they dont know what a soda is and can happily play this game, either the game is spoon fed, and nothing interesting goes on, or most of the community is underage, and think shouting out alcohol to a soda drinking question is cool.

(while doing this post, i actually installed and registered an account.)

Setting up a char is just terrible, i wish i could be bothered to screenshot step by step fail.

Oh, and the game crashes everytime i try to create my actually char, so gg, uninstall, lasted all of 20 mins on my computer.

He spells 'rune' as 'ruin'. It's not what you think he meant.

My spelling is universally horrendous. If web browsers didn't spell check these days you would have a horrible time reading anything I write. You've caught me in one of the many instances where the spell check did not save me from my natural inability to make letters chain together into correct words.
