0AD OpenSource Historical RTS (yummy art)
0 AD is a rather promising opensource rts, it has nice art resources (that would work well in a fantasy/historical spring game maybe?), but they're struggling with their game code.. So check it out, maybe there are a few nice things that you can find there, or help out with

If it where pre-rendered and dished out isometrically, maybe, but then it would be one heck of a pretty one. But its all 3d, and all there for anyone to use...

Heh, just looked at the thumbnails of the screens and formed an opinion which I shouldn't have done. I apologise.

Re: 0AD OpenSource Historical RTS (yummy art)
i notice they are appealing for votes on their main page.
perhaps spring mods should do this as well?

Re: 0AD OpenSource Historical RTS (yummy art)
Anybody have info on how this actually plays? Sounds a bit like AoE judging by their site which doesnt sound too promising to me
Also 6 (and more later) different armies sounds really hard to balance... Reduces mapping possibilities so much.

Re: 0AD OpenSource Historical RTS (yummy art)
It doesn't really play yet, they need gameplay devs! And I don't think balance would be such a big problem when it comes to maps.. And if it is just limit maps to one or two factions, easy as that
Re: 0AD OpenSource Historical RTS (yummy art)
AoE2 still holds its ground when MP is considered. If 0AD plays out with a similar flow as AoE2 and the engine is easily moddable then this will definitely be very good.JohannesH wrote:Anybody have info on how this actually plays?
