If I were female I would definitely sleep with a dude who made Marx generators in his mother's basement.

I was wondering if anyone would identify that thing:

I had made a much larger one, but the cheap Chinese capacitors all melted after a week...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QZs2CFqQoA here's a video of it. Here's another: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_2QtfHQbOI

And a video of the small one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlR1QwA91j4

And we can't forget the jacob's ladder... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Us71u7uNybw

I once took apart like 10 disposable cameras, and discharged the capacitors though some aluminum foil...

Damn I can't stay on topic for anything...

The crazy anarchist+electronics wiz guy on my high school robotics team was always saying he could make a tazer out of a disposable digital camera... it appears he was correct.

You could, but it would be very dangerous. If you don't remove the capacitor, it could kill someone if you manage to get them across the heart. But if you do remove it, the shock isn't very strong.

Here's steel wool instead:

Also see the coil gun I made with it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1dPj4LKsu4

Made made a little one about 10 inches high once, but it melted down in 10 seconds due to using those same Chinese capacitors...

I built a solid state coil, but it didn't work. I haven't messed with it much though, I'm sure once I mess with it more it'll get it working.

Currently, I'm trying to get a X/Y laser scanner working, I've got pretty much all the parts, I just need to put it together. I found some used Scanpro20s for $100! Normal price is $200+

Not really. Tesla coils are not really a good candidate for weaponization.

But some of Teslas ideas make for excellent weaponary- the engergy transfer through air- just make a network of sending stations directly below ground and a tower that fires recivers- suddenly engery out of nowhere

Of course the redalert teslacoils are pure nonsense, but hey they look cool and made that tech as a hobby popular ;)

That could be done. I'm thinking about building that Violet laser into my old Nintendo Zapper...

Though that would obviously be useless for killing things that are not bugs.

Well since u need 2 ends to properly transfer the electric flame you could shoot a particle that generates a field that attracts the lightning to it and than lets it lose in the area around it.
