This is a fun song to sing. It reminds me of those Greek monks on who are timid around women. Because of tradition, women aren't even allowed on their island. Some of the monks believe that if a woman were to show up on the island 2/3 of all of the monks in all of monasteries on the island would want to run off with her and marry her.

A song that my band plays, and the song that our former drummer kyle wrote 1 week before he died.

The fucked up thing is, with what happened to kyle, the lyrics make a scary amount of sense. Speaking, we'll have a 6 song demo up within a month or so that I'll be posting up here on the spring forums for download (as well as on my band's website). That song will be one of them. We've had a lot of trouble with the vocals (Cory our singer is brand new to recording, so that makes things a much slower process).

Well to be totally honest, I don't really care for his voice on recordings. It's a personal opinion, but whatever I guess. Live he sounds incredible, but on recordings it just seems like something is missing. Like I said though, personal opinion.

The biggest hurdle we've had with him was the fact that I'm pretty sure that he's never even played a live show before (we played a show at a place here in KC in november) our first show together. In recording, he reeks of newbieness, which makes things a lot harder than I would have ever thought.

However, that said, we've got all the vocals recorded now, so all that's left is mixing the damn things. I'd say on the mixing front it's prolly 30 - 50% done, give or take. One thing that will take some serious time is the fact that we have to run the vocals through Pro-Tools, which of course is going to be another huge mess... *sigh*

We're getting there though.
