the yt video lags.
i remember being impressed by the impact effects when debris fall of the ships.

many spritebased/2D pixelpainted games look still good today in contra most early 3D games are painfull to the eyes nowadays...

I think the point of this is that we are old and spent our best years playing sprite based (or similar) games while I assume he is not and didnt. Compared to a game on the ps3 or the xbox360 in 1080p i guess sprite based 640*480 games are not too impressive. Not that i would know cause i dont put up with all that new fangled console shite :D

Early Playstation games and the first 3D PC games OMG looked like ass and fail.

At least well done sprites still look good even if a game is old.

I started with spiriting and I am offended by your obvious lack of taste. There are so very few three dimensional games that measure up, pixel for pixel, graphically to even very classic sprited titles.

Dunno, I recall it being pretty confusing since I didn't really see what the units were doing...

so i downloaded the demo and played skirmish a bit.
i feels somewhat similiar to age of empires in that you have to research lots of stuff to unlock other stuff.
submarines can dive up and down on 5 levels which is easily controllable by the numpad (1 to 5) but iam not quite sure what you need this for, other than going through some tunnels. Yes, units can hide under overhanging terrain, thats quite cool.
screen resolution does not seem limited but imo the game did no age as well as for example starcraft or the older C&C. But maybe thats just because it still feels unusual. The atmosphere is still quite nice imo with the sounds and sea creatures roaming around and stuff.

I like the game voice, it's clear, unobstrusive.... "ca should have such a voice..."
