i've been playing some long decent games with AI, which i know before i get corrected, wont happen with a player2player battle, but that does not matter.

:p 2nd game was just under 3 hours long and was a 6 way ffa.

its different in that there are basically no ender units, other than spamming nuke ect.

either counter attacking while your enemy has its pants down, or chipping away at a base is the only way to win if you dont succeed on your first attack.

AI has a steep learning curve.

This will be good for when i actually get better at star craft i guess :D.

although, i do hate that enemy ai has no fog of war, and can spot you anywhere on the map.

i'd just like to add that the map editor is fucking AWESOME.

The fact it already has pre set tiles textures and shapes already built in to have a play about means anyone can make a map.

I've already made a few Spring based ones.

speed metal and altored so far :D

1-2 'full control groups' (12 units) of either Terran Battlecruiser or Protoss Carrier tend to end games pretty quick (at least the AI rarely can counter that). It's not the single unit that matters, but a group of them.

with the AI, do 1v1 and aim to defeat it within 10 minutes

the easiest way ive found is just mass marines with stimpacks and support w/ medics, the AI never gets to lurker/templar in time

Dudes, you have to watch the TeamLiquid starleague games. It will get you shutting up about battlecruisers and AIs quick. I hate watching cybersport, but the solid announcers, good camera work, and fast gameplay makes them fun to watch.

Looking at those games, I really hope that Blizzard gets rid of some of the hyper-micro-intensive-gameplay they have to do. Watching what the pros can do with mutas makes my Terran heart sad.

edit: TheMightyOne - have you looked over the wiki? While the basic resource and command model remains the same, it sounds like they're mixing up the unit set enough that it's going to be hella-confusing.

I'm in for the occasional SC games, got a copy here myself, PM me if you feel like having my minions knocking at your front door...
Nah, I suck @ SC

To defeat AI:
Mutalisk rush against zerg
DarkTemplar rush against Protoss/Terran

thx man that made my day

zw, i think most of us are here because we like high-level rts gameplay. i dont see how it would be sad to be hopeful about other games in this genre, especially ones that have an unparalleled history of competitive play.
