Libertarianism is based entirely on principles.neddiedrow wrote:Says somebody who draws from Objectivist/Libertarian doctrine?
There's debate as to what the "true" libertarian principles are, but generally libertarian philosophies stem from the principle of self-ownership, i.e. you own yourself and have the right to do whatever you'd like with yourself; and the principle of property ownership, i.e. you own your property and have the right (usually) to do whatever you'd like with it; the principle of non-coercion, which is that no person or group of people has the right to coerce another person or group of people into a certain action; and the principle of non-aggression, which is that you have no right to violate another's rights - the "your right to swing your fist stops at the end of my nose" principle.
I am not an Objectivist. I don't even agree with most of Ayn Rand's philosophies. I said that I like a few, but that doesn't make me Objectivist.
Anyone else think that many of the questions were skewed towards liberal and socialist ideals.
Things like "if economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations." Here you are a baby eater if disagree.
I find it odd how no one here is in the is in the top right quadrant where the majority of popular parties and politicians are.

Character attacks certainly don't help form a coherent dissent from her doctrine, but all the same, they are hilarious:
Have you ever seen her book covers in a row in a bookstore? They're always the same, her looking pissed off in a black dress on a white background. The only thing that changes? She gets older and her neckline steadily trends toward her boobs.
