My guess would be a core player group of about 200-400.
They play regularly.
Add to this a group of about 100 Players per months who play for a while and then get turned away by the assholes in the client-chat and the general unfriendliness of certain high-level forum posters. (min3mat, dasbruce (does this guy shove spikes up his ass at breakfast to be in that angry mood everyday?), Dronefragger (in serious need of some anger management), ect
The last number fluctuates, and rises if spring gets some larger outside news, like a magazine mentioning, or a new version release news that gets spread. The rate in which the last group resists the communities urges to drive away noobs is about as higher as the rate in which old regular players give up, leading to a stagnating playercount during the last half year.

How to change that? Set every new Client on Autoignore for the unfriendly Users, so they don`t even notice ?IMSabbel wrote:My guess would be a core player group of about 200-400.

One thing I've notices is there seems to be a real shortage of players rank 2 and 3. If you sort by rank there seems to be plenty of stars and 1 stripes, and a reasonable number of 4 stripes.
Maybe we should think about how we can help weaker players to learn the game and be competitive with the larger player base of experienced players.
