Hi, welcome.

Not sure what you mean by 1.c3 patch. The spring that you download is the latest.

As far as mods, Absolute Annihilation is the one most played, it is not very true to ota though.

If you want a mod that is the msot true to ota in spring that would be BOTA (Basically OTA), and I highly reccommend it, as it is quite good.

For a different (And arguably more fun) experience, Try out Expand And Exterminate (VERY highly reccommend this), as well as Nanoblobs, and Gundam (while it is based on the anime, it is more of a Battle Mechs mod, and is quite enjoyable).

You can get all of these and tons more at http://www.unknown-files.net

As far as maps go, I would hasten to mention my own (of which there are a great many), however there are several other Very talented mappers here as well.

Hope this helps, enjoy your stay, and welcome to the forums!

Welcome,

I would recomend also searching for the Maps of Quanto, Agorm, Noize...

A Complete List of the Forum Mappers can be found here..
http://taspring.clan-sy.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=6534
and a even more complete on http://www.unknown-files.net.
If you want to see which files are downloaded the most -
you can look here
http://www.fileuniverse.com/?p=listing&ID=121
(sort by Hits)

If you have OTA Expierience, i would also recommend you to stay out of Speedmetall Games, they would bore you, for certain.

Welcome to the Forums, welcome to spring - if you like it - recomend it to your friends. If you need further Help - post or ask the Mods in #main.

In your opinion. Many others disagree with you, and find that it is not only true to OTA, but significantly improves upon it.

As you have probably just realised, we have a bit of drama too. :P

As far as mods go, I recommend:

Uh. That contradicts itself. If it improves upon it, it cannot be true to OTA.

Patch 1.3c is for Total Annihilation.

Spring is a stand-alone engine. It should not be installed to the same directory as TA.

Why not? Core Contingency improved on OTA. So did most of the balance patches. So does, in fact, Spring itself. What you say could only be true if OTA couldn't be improved without losing its core concepts.

Advertising is well debated around here. Most people just don't like it.

Reminds me of a thread on the Glest forums (another OS RTS) That thread had almost a hundred screenshots of Spring  Some people might have joined Spring because of that too

The GUI is only readable at a resolution higher than 800x600. If you are running at less than that, that may be ur problem. I recommend 1024x768.

AA did away with many of the core concepts though.

Seriously. Play a game of OTA, then play a game of AA

Go back play a game of OTA, then play BOTA.

Now tell me which one felt the most like OTA. I've got 20$ riding on bota.

None of the command buttons have icons.
Fixed on svn (aka new code that has not been put in a release yet) and the dev .73 build.

High and low are unit defined options, indeed, the only one who can, if I recall, is the ARM Fido. That has a button which toggles it.
