FPS Mode On Planes Idea: Crashing

Post by Wolfword »

I mean, someone enters in FPS mode with an Air Scout, and he is so crazy that he wants to crash the plane with the enemy base. He is sure that the plane wont destroy itself, but he didnt read that since version 2.0 (Only joking) planes can crash. When the plane crashes his face is like WT...?

IMO it will be very good, cause you should evade mountains, to not crash. And of course, to do a Kamikaze attack too. (This gave me an idea, kamikaze planes, with a lot of bombs inside) (Well, nuclear bomber would BE a kamikaze plane if "Crashing Planes" is possible)

Or, maybe it can be a LUA Widget, I dont know...

Give me your opinion.

The Kamikaze-ing,if included in any game, should maybe not be only accessible through FPS mode.
One could use more than only one SPRING-AL_QUAIDA plane then.

Bomb drones in CA really are kamikaze planes.

Yeah, maybe like a Big red button saying "Kamikaze" on planes. Then you click somewhere and the plane would fall there.

I havent tried CA`s flying bombs, but they should be awesome.

(Idea)

Name: Q33 AL_QUIDA
Type: Plane
Role: Kamikaze operations
Tech: 1
Bonus damage on: Twin Towers (LOL?)
Metal: ???
Energy: ???

¡The ultimate kamikaze experience, only on Terrorist Wars mod!

A lot of the behaviors you're talking about are Gadget-only territory.

That said, you can already fly planes manually and do stuff that's pretty evil, like make enemy rocket launchers waste shots trying to hit you while you duck behind mountains (I'm sure that could be used in a serious game) firing weapons manually with guided weapons to do "pop-up" behaviors, etc.

And you can always fly your plane into an enemy base, after making them waste missiles on terrain, then plunge your plane into a building after you've released your attacks then self-d... it's just that most planes don't have enough self-d damage / radius for it to be all that useful.

Other things to try are atlas with roach, pyro, or spybot. Pyro and spybot absolutely need the selfd to go off though to work.

Air Raid is SO awesome.too bad no one will play it in the lobby i think that is why (and because) the host was closed.
Knorke, do you know other players? I am thinking of a ...weekly or so... match, which would be awesome.

what i like about Air Raid is that it is not like the ten real flight sims i have tried before.

what do you mean with "real flight simulator"?

well, this engine is optimized for multiplayer rts. This is the same issue that has been discussed thousands of times with fps games on spring.

air raid is best of the first/third person shooter experiments in spring i think...
problem is lag.
while in singleplayer it plays quite well, over internet your control input is delayed. makes it very hard to hit stuff if the plane reacts moments after you move the mouse. host does not have that problem.
still if someone wants to play, pm me in lobby.

a similiar non-spring game would be Airfix Dogfighter, the planes are toyplanes but otherwise it feels similiar.

unless i misunderstand that would require multiple synced states which would have to be checked against eachother which is, well, scary.

you'd just need to know what happened a few frames ago, you could apply the actual effects this frame.
