banned for a week for silly joke

I am Smelly (tags: SB, SoS)
yesterday (or the day before, can't remember lol) i got a week ban for saying this in the newbie channel:
"Congratulations ! you are the 10.000th Spring player ! please click this suspicious looking link to collect your prize ! removed link"

now i know that site shocks people but i thought it would be fun to see people being dumb enough to even click it !

anyhow.... some admin banned me and I don't agree with that, its not like im linking kiddyporn or something :/ and besides when you read "SUSPICIOUS" looking link, you prolly know its no good anyway.

only reasonable explenation for my ban would be a religious admin, if so, fu and ur religion ! of not.....i don't understand your actions.

hey smelly congrats for scaring away one more newbie from spring, we where having problems with too many of them anyway.

Don't listen to the mods, they all hatin for no reason. I think this post will help with your ban, cause mods like to discuss banning policy here on the forums.

I don't think i scared away anyone with this. i admit, this link is horrible in a way but still if you are so disturbed by some link some random guy posts in a chat and THAT would be your reason to immediatly uninstall spring....sounds silly to me.

I'd be more like: "ah some shitface linked a nasty website, too bad i clicked the link but fuck it. im gonna play a game"

I must admit, the admin who banned me had a good sence of humor himself for he replied to me: "Congratulations! you are the 10.000th player banned from spring ! (reason: see you in a week)" xD

imo, afther a sentence like that still clicking the link is just being very VERY naive. if you click it, you deserve to be pranked like that.

I think being banned a whole week is a too severe punishment. He could have had a warning prior or instead. I think Smelly made a stupid joke, but not everyone might agree. Scaring of newbees is a sin, but was it that bad? I say: penalty should be community service (time is sereved when smelly introduces 3 noobs to spring and trains them to regular skill level.) Just let the guy play again.
