Spring Showcase 8

Post by Cabbage »

Hullo, I've made another crappy vid!

It consists entirely of Kernel Panic and could have been alot better, but i'm lazy and thought screw it, so ignore all the minor mis timings and other crap or i'll cry..

Oh, and the music might be annoying, but its suitable considering the mod.. :P

Edit: might take a while for the link to become active..

Nah, it already is active. Though not yet the HQ one. Nice vid, quite ethereal. The grey water feels odd. I'm so used to black water on speed balls! Good job with the KP themed star swipe  . And why do you keep excusing yourself for the music? It's not bad!

I keep wondering where you find that music. What was the video you were doing with the very 80s scene with the karnageth's firing 1,2,1,2?

May you change the preview pic to one less greyish?

Nice vid :-)

Tbh my favorite vid that you've done is showcase II, just because of the music + action in it was awesome, plus it showed the huge variety that is possible in spring.

./ramble

I liek :-)

It baffles me why in protest you use one of my older logos as well as producing artefacts at the corners in the process lmao

Looking forward to the next vid

Hmmm thats awful quality even for youtube, i might try uploading using hteir HD link and see if that makes it any better, i rendered it using the same settings i usually use so maybe its their new widescreen change?

AF, what are you on about, i used what i had to hand.. i'm afraid i didn't spare a passing thought for you or your logos...

Its that coupled with the fact that the logo isnt eh latest, as a result you get the blurryness in the middle, and because of the lack of blue there's artefacts around the corners and horribleness where the alpha is transparent but there's nothing behind it

meh, use the logo or not, at least make it look pretty, it is after all the logo of the very thing your showcasing!!!

Lovely video.

Meh... SOMEBODY PUT THIS STUFF ON MODDB! NOW!

You're only seeing 144 views because nobody knows it exists.

At one point I shall make a MODDB KP profile. Perhaps. But must finish 3.2 first! How would you rate the number of people Mod DB brought to PURE, both in relative and in absolute, Argh?

My experience, for the most part, is that moddbers like to browse moddb, not play games. There are exceptions, but most of them will try a game for 2 hours and then never play it again.

Let's put it this way- the amount of real advertisement and total downloads I get from this place is a drop in the bucket.

I can't really say whether the fact that the main release up to RC3 was set up to use the Test Server (and has an old copy of Spring, etc.) is a major factor or not, but it probably accounts for why there's hardly any online play. I think most people forget that I released before 0.77b1 was even available.

I do know that a fairly large number of folks poked into the Lobby even with those factors involved.

RC4 will get released with the current version of Spring and SpringLobby. We don't have a firm release date on the next Spring, so if it's a month or so, that should be OK.

Maybe I'll wait till I have a campaign before advertising on ModDB then.

Cabbage, can I have the HeavyFileSize "source" version of your vid?
