Integrated voice system based on teamspeak2 ready for use

FOLLOWING IS NO LONGER TRUE, SYSTEM DELETED

What it does:

- hosts central voice chat server and automatically puts people to passworded rooms based on their alliances when game starts

- I suggest you go to settigns->sound notifications and check "disable all sounds" amd also set teamspeak to run on high priority (other tab). Also its usefull to either decrease spring global volume or increase teamspeak output volume so that you hear clearly during combat.

- there is default silent idle channel there - nobody can talk there, people just idle there. Free chat channel where people can create their own rooms and then individual passworded game rooms (g1-g40) managed automatically by the system.

How to use it if you have CaDownloader:

- check "ingame voice system" on CA tab

How to use it if you dont have CaDownloader:

- download ordinary ts2 client from http://www.goteamspeak.com/?page=downloads

- connect your teamspeak to licho.eu - use your lobby name - if you have clantags replace "[" and "]" with "<" and ">"

How it works:

- CaDownloader sends info about game to central server which then manages people on teamspeak server. At least one person in game needs to have cadownloader running when game starts.

- Implemented as protocol extension for p2p coordinator - springlobby can easilly implement it too

So, all I need to do is download TeamSpeak, connect it to server licho.eu and as I have the same name there as in TASclient, it should work?

Just finished installing it, so if everything went correctly, I should be able to test it soon :) Does sound like a cool idea, props for that.

Are there any details anywhere on these protocol extensions? Or where the rest of the current version of the p2pco-ord protocol is? How about the progress on the lobby <-> CADownloader interface?

Sorry for the questions but right now this is more of a nightmarish headache than a godsend, and you show no signs of helping it.

CA Downloader is open source isn't it?

Somehow I think that's a half baked excuse. The ever busy betalord managed to do a 10+ page xml file for his protocol description, and despite not being perfect its much better. Do you think other lobby devs would have been thrilled if we'd been told 'go look in tasclient'?

Yeah protocol is linked from front caspring.org page, it's here:

http://trac.caspring.org/wiki/DownloaderProtocol

Edit: BrainDamage suggested to use direct UDP link to spring in the future and send "death" notification to coordinator server when player dies so that it can be removed from channel. I plan to implement it when working autohostinterface enabled spring is out.

[21:47:31] Connecting to licho.eu
[21:47:34] No reply from server
Maybe the server is offline
or maybe teamspeak is not running on it

?

Btw teamspeak server is also open for general free use, anyone can create their own channels there.

I got the same error message earlier today, too, but it works now, so might have been something like that (:

Maybe team speak should be installed with the spring installer?
Like,be an option.
As usual those who do not read the forums will not know of this,
especially new players.
Would be excellent if when i choose to make aninstallaton with team speak when u open the lobby team speak opens up as well and the lobby fills in the deails in the team speak and connects the player.

brackets are not allowed in teamspeak-nicknames that makes registration inevitable for all who use clantags.
+1 for integrating this into the installer
