There's a slider in battleroom. Set it low.

unit limit

Post by mongus »

The slider doesnt work.
Is there a way to count units in game? (as the spacebar was...).

On a side note...
Always wanted to play with very few units.. and see what results of it...
what new strategies and mm... the carefull management of the (now) more valuable units...
Nobody else wanted on my lanP.

to my knowledge, unit limiting works... you can only set it if you're the host.

Only tried once.
I was the host and set unit limit to 35.
But... never had an effect on the game.
I had more than 100 units at the same time.

I will try again, maybe was my mistake.

Edit: Well just tried, and its not working.
Made a game with 30 units and i had more than 100.

You can check how many units by pressing B, dont know if that is for self or the whole game.

Edit: webbie, yes, you are right, there may be a distinction between units and build units, buildings...
but i had more than 30 units in attacking kbots. (counted manually), that plus the Build kbots units and labs and radar towers...
try by yourself.

edit: Great, .. now back to convince some ppl to try it... :|

It's also worth noting that in OTA, buildings counted towards the unit limit.

I think right now buildings count as immobile units, so they are counted in the unit limit.

The unit limit is broken in .41, (I read it from the map .smd file instead of the start file for some reason :)) have fixed it in now so it will work in the next version.

and pressing "b" now shows the units in the whole game, it should display the number of your own units.

Also the unitlimit should apply on your units.
