Re: Balance Committee

Given what Floris said in another thread: Give me some time to make it similar to old ba again... previous versions were just test versions, nothing more. I have a bit the impression that there is a lot of emotional reaction and rushed action here. Given the above quote and what was written in this ...

Re: Red Planet Impact v2

But commenting on the map: very nice diffuse texture. Layout could be fun, but I wasn't able to play a real game on it so I can't say for sure :-) One thing I noticed: the heightmap of the craters around metal spots should be adjusted so that you can easily build 2nd level BA metal extractors on the...

Re: Red Planet Impact v2

we should try to minimize the possibility of players having issues while trying to play. full ack Regarding the pragmatic approach: Picking the features you want and embed them into your map is IMHO not a very big hassle. You have to copy the definitions anyway into your map to adjust them to your ...

Re: Red Planet Impact v2

Would of course be nice if springlobby would do it automatically, but status of now is that it doesn't. So if you want your map to be playable by all players, I can only conlcude: don't use springfiles dependecy in maps (until this works). If you don't care if all players will be able play it, use it.

Re: Red Planet Impact v2

He was talking about springlobby. I had this problem, too (also with other maps having springfiles dependency). This means you exclude a part of the community from playing these maps. One time download or not doesn't matter, since average player will probably not know how or care how rapid download ...

Re: Spring features help

For geovents you could go like this: Place in features/allworlds a file named geovent.lua (found this somewhere, but don't remember where) containing: local DRAWTYPE = { NONE = -1, MODEL = 0, TREE = 1 } local geoDefs = {} local function CreateGeoDef() geoDefs["geovent"] = { blocking = fals...

Re: Newer BA version, pr-downloader, user widgets

To sum up my experience with pr-downloader so far: Getting a list of available release versions is not trivial: After I got of this thread the info that helped to interpret the lines in versions.gz, I can crawl now through the long list there and understood what to look for. A standard task like dow...

Re: Newer BA version, pr-downloader, user widgets

pr-downloader --download-game "Balanced Annihilation V9.48" OK, this worked :-) Thanks! Quotes are needed. With "ba:" in front it didn't work. BTW: Deleting like in using "pr-downloader --delete "Balanced Annihilation V9.48"" doesn't work. Game still appears ...

Re: Newer BA version, pr-downloader, user widgets

Thanks, that info helps :-)

Now I just have to get my user widgets running again...

...and find out how to delete stuff with pr-downloader :o
"pr-downloader --delete ba:stable" didn't remove v9.52

Re: Newer BA version, pr-downloader, user widgets

So there is no easy way to get an sdz from pr-downloader? And on github there are no tags or so (or am I just too stupid to find them?) so no way to download a specific version (as Ba9.50 ...).

Re: Newer BA version, pr-downloader, user widgets

BTW: How do I delete stuff that was downloaded with pr-downloader? For this it would of course also be helpful to have an easy way to get a list of what was downloaded... Can I create a sdz of a newer version of BA? If I want to try things on my machine it would be sometimes helpful to put it in an ...

Newer BA version, pr-downloader, user widgets

So I wanted to try out a newer BA version than 9.46 to get an impression of what the changes are/do. Few problems on the way: With pr-downloader --download-game ba:stable I get the latest version (9.52 as of now). How do I get older versions? ba:9.51 ba:951 and ba:V9.51 didn't work. Or even better: ...

Re: [solved] springlobby <-> attack on area ?

SpringLobby sets the environment variable SPRING_WRITEDIR: this can lead to different results when spring isn't run from springlobby. I don't fully get the second part, since I started in both cases from springlobby (just different versions). But that is not really important... To understand it rig...

Re: springfiles https fails in firefox 48.0

For me it also still works in chromium. Firefox seems to have gotten more picky when it comes to certificates.

Just noticed: If I uncheck "Query OCSP responder servers to confirm the current validity of certificates" (in preferences>advanced>certificates) it works again.

Re: springlobby <-> attack on area ?

Thanks for the tips! :-) Infolog, right. Did not consider it first, since I thought it should load the same settings, but it seems that the order how directories are read/treated changed between lobby versions :o Not sure if I like this change... Tested then with luaui disable (forgot this command, ...

springfiles https fails in firefox 48.0

Not sure if this belongs in this sub-forum. If not, please move it to the right one. Just noticed after upgrading my firefox: if I now try to connect to springfiles.com using "https" I get this message: Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to springfiles.com. Peer...
