Re: Is there a fix for the aircraft ground attack bug?

There's quite a few bugs related to aircraft & especially bombers, so I'm not sure which one you're wanting a fix for, but I think you might be after this:

Re: chrank and the constant failure of balance

Dansan, do TERA servers upload their games to your site? Would be a shame not to have stats including those too.

Re: chrank and the constant failure of balance

By definition we will end up with games where every player will win about 50% of the games cause it is so well balanced. But this fact will render the balance system itself useless since it relies solely on win/loss-ratio. This dosn't quite happen because there is random variation coming in all the...

Re: chrank and the constant failure of balance

One of the most important parts of a new ranking system is to be able to detect smurfs in a reasonable amount of time. I dont think 100 games is viable in that matter. Yes, 100 games is far too many to use as smurf detection. I don't think win/loss can be used for that. I don't konw much about lobb...

Re: chrank and the constant failure of balance

Ranking systems based entirely on win/loss statistics have already been implemented for team games, with success. A quick read through danchans statistics will tell you that it takes about 100 team games to get a reasonable estimate of a single players strength through win/loss stats. This is more t...

Re: chrank and the constant failure of balance

...the reason why balance algorith must be done such as it encorage player to do the right thing: lot of damage, as early in the game as possible No. There is no 'right thing' and we should not discourage variety in the way people play. I completely agree with Johannes that a ranking system can onl...

Re: BA 7.72 released!

Someone asked above about autoresign - it used to be set to 1 min and quite a few people were getting disconnected whilst 'afk' during their startbuilds. Its 2.5 mins now.

Re: chrank and the constant failure of balance

There are statistical tests for 'true' randomness (i.e. maximal entropy - in short, what you look for is fairness and a lack of correlation between successive trials). If anyone is willing to share data sets about ZK balancing/results that would be very nice. But what I really wanted to mention is t...

The reason why brackets Thanks ;) I wondered about that. Didn't see that option for whatever reason, thanks for the guide. Another question, I've tried activating options with the flying sparkly tree-thing like rotate, jitter, and spread, but the features always look the same and are at the same or...

Re: Using Feature Placer?

Here's what I had to do, using Springlobby. Download the latest evo (Springlobby can do it automagically if you try and enter an Evo autohost, or use springfiles). Go to the 'singleplayer' tab in Springlobby, select Evo and the map of your choice. Add a NullAI as your opponent. Within the singleplay...

Re: An overhaul of BA balance

Dodging missiles/plasma is still an important part of t1 kbot play - but you have to dodge with fighting units and with rezbots. As you say, rezbots are important but they are also fragile and pretty mobile, so imo dodging is now more 'fun' (and harder micro) than dodging with just rockos. As to pat...
