Re: swarm behaviour

The main thing that pisses me off is when i make a drag move order and, for example: Drag from top down somewhere on the map and the units decide to all cross past each other to carry out the order (unit at northmost point wants to go to southmost and vice versa) Drag from bottom up and the units mo...

Re: Ba economy discussion

Used to be common place back when comm wrecks were worth 15k. These days i'd say the comm is more valuable to keep than the 2.5k wreck you get from self d'ing, considering that it can dgun units worth far more in value and often save you from slower t2 or t3 units that would easily mop up your own.

Re: Ba economy discussion

Its much better to invest into t1 econ before going t2 than simply "waiting" as you put it for enough metal on a shitty 3-4 mex t1 economy. By investing into further t1 econ you can still tech by around 10-11 mins and you have the added advantage of having a decent +30/+40 m income and eno...

If you actually go fight, you'll learn this stuff pretty fast. Its about being a good teammember, not a good player. This is the sort of mentality that I really dislike. There is nothing more frustrating than being part of a team where it is obvious that one or more of the members consistently unde...

I suppose none of you have realised that if an ally tries to nap your com you have to RUN YOUR BOY CONSTANTLY FOR THE REST OF THE GAME to avoid being napped, since he won't shoot down a friendly atlas it will continue to chase him indefinitely...

Don't go SLI unless you are going to buy at least two 8800 series cards. A single 8800GT will outperform an sli setup of any nvidia cards from a lower series, and it will also outperform an 8800GTS for much less cost. If it hadn't been for the 8800GT being released just after I built my rig with an ...

its primarily the paneling on the track guards, they look like a brick wall.. you need to resize that texture area so that there are fewer panels and probably redesign the layout so it looks less brickwallish.. other than that the rest looks pretty good.. Perhaps use a different shape like Triangle...

And no doubt the missiles firing off repeatedly will add a lot of colour, provided you make use of these "new" type of effects Argh, Snipawolf etc have started knocking up. I do think the sides and top could use a little bit of colour as well though. I assume those red areas you put on you...

I don't really like the nano widgets that auto set nano's to patrol and thus will switch between assisting factories, repairing units and reclaiming. Defaulting the nanos so that they assist ONLY what you tell them to seems like a much better choice.

I remember playing a lulz game against [Warrior]White 1v1 in comet where i tried to win using fighters only. Ended up I had about 85 to 90% map coverage, around +150m per sec with about 15 t1 air labs all assisted heavily by nanos, so I had constant waves of around 150-200 avengers (enough that on p...

Back in the day when greenfields was the most popular map in Spring my build was always heavy adv solar from an early tech, using a couple of t1 constructors assisted by farks. The incremental increase in energy allowed for a quick t2 air rush or a core nuke primed and ready to fire by the 20 minute...

+1 to this. A good looking, clean and slightly stylish UI is something Spring has needed for a LONG LONG time, and would greatly add to the overall graphical experience players get. Even simple things like the new build menu in CA really adds to the overall quality of the visuals, and stops Spring l...

Someone find Runecrafter and motivate him to do the Arm models IMO. The flash he made was really cool, and followed that design plan thing really well. I would like to see someone make Arm units as close as possible to that concept art (can't remember who made it or what it's called but I'm sure som...

Three is overkill IMO. I think most of you are missing some of the elements of what makes the tremor so good. It's not entirely about unit stats all the time, you know. The tremor is definately a powerful psychological weapon in games and can encourage players to make moves they may not be ready to ...

Krows are just shit for the whole game when you consider the alternatives IMO. Rapiers after an early tech do just what the name would suggest, after which, bomber runs are so much more effective than krows it's not even worth thinking about them.

I have done some com murdering with a bunch of stealth tanks. you're talking past each other. relax. lots of people play games because it fulfills a desire for competitive interaction (with the reward of social recognition for dominance). smoth doesn't. for some people having a good kill/death ratio is what makes the game fun - losing to them isn't fun becaus...
