Re: Stationary flak hitting own buildings

Well flak is kind of a wild card, it will explode even if it doesn't come in contact with the plane it is firing at, so maybe it activates on proximity and that same proximity works on friendly buildings? No, that is not how burnblow works. The projectile is fired at an enemy units location, and ex...

Re: Balanced Annihilation V7.15

The problem with it is that a small pack of bombers can get 2-3 loads before AA is built nearby , and you do not need to sit on top of the target, you can be quite far away, bombers seem to have feather-light bombs that travel surprisingly long distances. The issue is that the bomber usually has to ...

Re: Space combat, travel, living...

Indeed, X-ray lasers would be a good option in space. But anyhow, considering the speed of light limitations for detection, the near-orbit or in-system fights most of the time, and the simple fact that whoever is on higher orbit wins (a lot of this is true about airplanes as well) the space fights w...

"We come in PEACE" brilliant Edit : now actually reading the post, I have been following 0AD for quite a while, and some of the engine features (especially some of the environmental rendering) look amazing. Considering the style of game you are aiming to, I would expect 0AD to have a Total...

Re: netbook advice

indeed, there is not much variety on netbooks, except unimportant stuff like finder-print censor and stuff like that. best is to get a non-special one there, eg.. one that is sold in the multi millions. For them, you can usually get a linux distro that works from the start, including all the extra ...

Re: netbook advice

Non ion EEEPC has 20 fps with 50-100 units on the screen, the land texture is entirely white though. I managed to watch LLT complex 8v8 up to 12 minutes into the game, but, honestly, "watch" is the wrong word, I was watching the minimap, while camera was pointed at the least intensive part...

Re: netbook advice

All netbooks are the same. I had an EEEPC, and it was great, a bit of problem with LCD screen, but thats just bad one I guess (the LCD had delay on refresh in part of the screen). Xcom runs perfectly (played myself). World Of Good runs perfectly well too. You can even play some 3D games on it (Q3 ru...

Re: Big Bug thread for 0.82.2/3 - Report bugs here

zooming in-out, or running game at fast pace, results in 1/4 of the left bottom screen having semi-transparent water texture overlaid on top of the actual screen for the moment of the action. I.e. when zooming it only "blinks", while running on fast speed it is "constant" NOTA 1....

Re: NOTA 1.63

I would personally prefer to have Beam lasers, instead of the sniper-lasers, because they just dont look good (thick red rods..). Something along the lines of SC2 protoss anti-swarm mech would be much prettier (cant remember the name now).

Re: NOTA 1.63

Montros pod teleport is bugged to hell. When you teleport it, the icon is left in it's original place, while the model is teleported, and being able to shoot, but does not take any damage/splash damage in the model's place, and, instead, takes the damage in the place where the icon is. Additionally,...

Considering the large amount of shortcoming of this system, I would say NO, I find my own name being linked to accounts that I have never seen or used before.

Additionally, current balance is broken anyway.

Re: Which mods are Open Source

if you are looking for that, do not ask whether the project is Open Source or not (because models + artwork is NOT included into GPL), you should instead go over to the model base (I hope I got name right) thread, and check the appropriate licenses there. You are looking for CC without ND in it. Or ...

Re: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT graphics card causes Comp to crash

I have a comp with exactly that gfx card. It has no problems spectating full game of BA and NOTA (checked it with replay on BA 7.12 and NOTA 1.63)

Latest drivers for the card are installed.

considering the size of NOTA community I do not think that it makes any sense to do beta tests, as they will take 50% of the community, and you might as well just release nota .64 as a hotfix.

can the speed of the jethos/AA t1 kbots be reduced to level of thud - tiny bit.

At the moment wherever you walk with thuds + AA, the AA bots always end up in front and slaughtered.

Re: NOTA 1.62

I have to agree with Godde about the dests.. if you run away, your torps do hit the enemy dest, while his torps fall behind.

Godde, more ships simply means higher potential for strategies, or at least, a new gameplay for a few weeks until we figure everything out. I am all for that.

Re: NOTA 1.62

What about 2 modes for the torp planes? One of which is low altitude, fast and high damage torp, the other one is high altitude, lower damage, but "winged torp" The reason why torp planes are like they are in NOTA is mainly because the torpedo planes have to have low alt to correctly deplo...
