Re: Bug in chili framework

Chili framework is fairly stable and bug free but there is a huge flaw that any Chili widget can crash the whole GUI drawing.

Re: Yet Another Anti-DSD Thread - Got banned for promoting host

I got a permanent ban from all ACE hosts for saying something like "badly configured host" and leaving after it. The host owner then felt his ego hurt and PM:d me about the perm. ban and insulted me for lack of knowledge. My only ban in 3000 hours of Spring and one of couple bans in ACE ho...

Re: proposal for rules of deprecation of Lua API stuff

Another example: The removing of table.n (eg what Pako posted here for exploding-piece-CEGs:: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=27554) Actually was made by engine dev, I just accidentally found it. The problem was/is most games have their custom unitdefs_post.lua which can't load the unitdefs_post.lua from ...

Re: please increase packet limit

Players are right. There was no problem with bandwidth nor CPU lags when thousand units got issued a custom formation command. There were even some very evil Lua picture drawing widgets which draw thousand lines in a half second. The unoptimized GL line drawing lagged many times more than the bandwi...

I think there is also nuclear vacuum pacced food which has been radiated or killed with strong UV-light. It is as good or actually better than canned. Salt and vinegar and other natural stuffs are the best because they keep many heatlhy bacteria alive and killing all bigger bacteria which shits thes...

Re: Spring 87.0! 2nd Run!

-isCommander tag why? -Real time strategy games are about commanding -Almost all strategy games have some more important units.(base, commander, first unit, leader units) -there was no need for removing it, no speed gain nothing, it just introduced bunch of ugly hacks to get some of the old functio...

Re: Spring 87.0! 2nd Run!

Please revert these so I don't have to explain why: -isCommander tag -infolog.txt buffering -removing ArchiveMover -GL smoothing ON by default -wdef[id].areaOfEffect, wdef[id].maxVelocity -network bandwidth limits -falling damage(or document workaround) +similarly braindead changes "--safemode&...

Re: Is is possible for a spring game to appear in steam?

I disagree, initial steam (counter strike source days), had a buggy client, the network was crashing down, it was shit. In fact it made me avoid any "On Steam!" products for many years later. Good times. There was this cracked russian steam client called NO STEAM, which cracked the first ...

Re: Testing the new widget handler!

Why not just replace include by require? If it is because other widgets could change the included content, I dont know any widget which does so.
I uploaded somethins. https://github.com/jk3064/new_widgethandler/pulls

Re: ability to change fraction ingame

First you should realize that players don't need faction info(in BA), it has next to none strategy value and first scout reveals it. Anyways, how ZK does things: name,active,spectator,_,_,pingTime,cpuUsage,country,rank, customKeys = Spring.GetPlayerInfo(playerID) icon = "LuaUI/Configs/Clans/&qu...

Re: BA Website

Maybe you just fail to realize how important a wiki is for a strategy game with over 200 units. Of course the wiki could be on other site but it won't happen witout more players and without a good info on units and strategy there will be no competitive players. With no competitive players the normal...

Re: Map edges, how can they be fixed?

I feel there needs to be some more transparency down where it meets the ground. Playing top down, one might get the feeling they are indeed playing in very_bad_soldier's grandma's room, but with some more transparency it should come off as the VR grid. Clearly you didn't even test it. Thinner and s...

Re: Testing the new widget handler!

It is barely usable but I have been using it for a while. -there are some major bugs to fix to even get it working -Chili window won't close when the widget is disabled -Epicmenu uses some hacks to disable/enable widgets which cause huge errors so all include() should be replaced by require() but wi...

When you are giving usfags something for free you must remember they are in constant war on communism and won't like community lead to alter their accomplished assets.
