Yea, I agree. Once you know the game differentiation is not needed as much. But the point is everyone is going to be a noob at a new game at some stage so wouldn't it be nice if it was easier to learn.

Re: Fibre v6

Right clicking doesn't always work for me and it never works with transmitters. Also the factory-beacon line seems to be on it's side and can't be seen far away or top down.

Re: Fibre v5

Very nice :-) . A quick way to check nodes full of energy would be useful, like if they had a flashing light or something. Also being able to set the rally point of a factory by selecting the factory and right clicking would be a time saver. It would be nice if transmitters showed what they are poin...

Re: Fibre v5

I had another error where my entire network turned neutral. My citadel was not dead in both my errors. As for selecting the citadel I bind it to group 0.

Re: Fibre v5

I played a 4v4 on EE-Riverglade and it crashed eventually with this error: LuaRules::RunCallIn: error = 2, GameFrame, [string "LuaRules/Gadgets/charge.lua"]:396: attempt to perform arithmetic on a nil value In another game all my stuff turned neutral a this same error turned up. Also every...

I like making wall or ditches with the mound terraforming so I can use my kbots but they can't use their tanks. It's also really good at hiding t2 econ from berthas. Also for hiding the new CA guardians.

I think bombers would be a good way to counter arty, also a fast unpacking unit with low range would counter it. Shields would work too and if you're being attacked by arty you could move your buildings. Jammers could be built to counter arty so you could move your buildings. You could have a buildi...

I was saying that the name Spring is obscure. A Spring is a coiled piece of metal or a season.

Having a slightly obscure name means people are more likely stumble over it when searching for something else. A small percentage of these people turn into spring players.

Great mod idea, I've played a few games like this mod. What about making a connector node that can't build things but acts as a link to allow 2 node to be far away.

Complicated you should keep in mind that many players that need to play the campaign will be new to spring. You don't want the difficulty to increase dramatically or they may give up.

One problem though that spring has is that the AI/single player mode just isn't as well polished as multiplayer. You might actually learn more and advance quicker if you start by playing TA original with various mods against the AI (with the unit limit remover and game speed unlimiter). I agree OTA...

Repair Circle Bug

I noticed a bug with repairing circles similar to the reclaim bug: http://spring.clan-sy.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=11326&highlight=reclaim . The my cons sometimes walk out of their repair circle to repair something else. I think it could be a bug with command circles like transport(I haven't use...

The inability to even play a game is an issue. Noobs get kicked from battle loobies for being noobs and hosting can be hard, I only managed to get hosting to work after 3 months.

A large part of the problem is smurfs. If there were no smurfs everyone would know who the new players were and teach them. Teams could be properly balanced as well so teaching a noob is not a bad thing. Flamming is also bad as long as they listen to advice and learn from their mistakes. Also Speedm...

blindly sending in troops can give the enemy free metal, it's annoying when allies do this. Also a llt or 2 in a chokepoint while advancing can be useful.

What about a -ve plasma defector instead of a unit that enemies attack because the unit forces them to. So the unit takes shots and draws them in.
