Re: Reducing Time-To-Action Length in BA
Game start is boring. No. It's full of adrenaline and tension. the "standard" start strategy involves building: [...] I never started like that. Maybe you should include this option for Warcraft 2. in BA you have so many options right from the beginning, there is no such thing as a standa...

Re: New mod-options
I think the idea of a few easily accessible checkboxes with clearly defined mod options are feasible and wouldn't hurt anyone. I think they are a good way to shake things up a bit. It would be really interesting too see how 8v8 DSD plays out with no fast tech / commbomb options: Some options I'd lik...

Re: Balanced Annihilation V7.12
Maybe the turret/unit turnrate of the Vanguard should be lowered, so that they are more vulnerable to spam and flanking.
Speaking of which, the turret turnrate buff (happened a while ago) of the Vulcan/Buzzsaw is pretty ridiculous imo. It just looks silly and it's not that these weapons or UP anyway.

I beg to differ. It's exactly the other way round.Hobo Joe wrote:1v1's [...] rely much more on strategy

Re: BA Sea
That's actually an interesting idea. A compromise would be to keep T1 sea as it is now or make it even stronger than hovers. The remaining benefit for hovers would be the added flexibility. It all boils down to that I think the investment for the hoverlab should be reduced, to allow an early partici...

Re: BA Sea
Ships became useless, and never built, because you could quickly dominate the difficult-to-defend ocean with subs and then rush up the shoreline. tbh I don't really understand that argument. Sub rush hardly ever works right now, and my idea wouldn't change that. If anything, it discourages sub rush...

Re: BA Sea
- hoverlab buildable by comm, cheap as the other t1 labs. - cruise missile hovercraft removed (or large price increase/buff, to make it like diplomat) - anti air hovercraft able to shoot at ground, samson style - new hovercraft with sonar and dephcharge launcher. expensive, slow, low hp. bad unit ag...

a link to springfiles.com, clearly labeled as the primary source for maps and mods, should be placed somewhere prominently too imo

It would be really nice if healthbars were completely gone when the healthbars widget was turned off - spectating battles would look better this way.- Healthbars widget now disables the engine ressurect bars.

I also thought psychology was bullshit when I was younger. Psychology is very interesting though since it can, through classic scientific method of gathering data and making models, classify quite strange problems, which, surprisingly, are often quite counterintuitive to basic intuition. Personality...

Selectionkeys Editor categories broken?
In the Selectionkeys Editor, the "air" category doesn't seem to work anymore. For example, when assigning a key combination to select all air units, nothing gets selected anymore in BA. BTW it would be nice if there were more categories like ships, subs, hovers, fighters, bombers, gunships...

Re: Balanced Annihilation Development
It's true that many problems in BA result from the map design. My 2 main observations: 1) On combined land/sea maps sea metalspots create huge problems, since an early, decisive sea rush gives you tons of metalspots which are basically impossible to take away from you in a timely manner. This proble...

Re: Balanced Annihilation V7.1
IMO the firepower increase of the guardian in high traj is really unnecessary. What does it accomplish? High traj of the guardian is more over- than underpowered already, once you can get it up it is often the beginning of the end of the enemy frontline. My suggestion for the guardian would be to lo...

Re: Good Books
Since we are talking about science fiction, I wonder why no one mentioned Stanislaw Lem yet. In his short stories (Star Diaries), he writes pretty bland and without any style at all - but he manages to develop and follow through some clear and (mildly) interesting thoughts, often starting only from ...

Re: New project
Just read the "changelog", I think 90% of these are really good. Decreasing T2 bomber speed is a great idea. Slower moving Transports loaded with heavy units (read: Commander) are another great idea, it should move only about 50-100% faster than walking speed. For the flak weapons, I don't...
