Re: How should the AI handle it's army?
Just split the map in quadrants, count average height of each one for global choise of tactics (in given height range, for example difference below 400m means the map is flat, so flat-map tactics will be used), save height point coordinates in sub-quadrant array (mark unreachable) and use them for a...

Re: How should the AI handle it's army?
I think that means all our AIs are pretty predictable Not exactly. It is a good idea to implement hardcoded flank attacks and unit formations for them when a given condition is met (ie splitting enemy groups and counting in which side are weaker/less units). Pick up some books used in military scho...

Re: How should the AI handle it's army?
But that is all so rigid! The AI will be predicable! http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm153/Vision_again/tumblr_kwydbvvBG21qz7lxdo1_400.gif Yes, especially if AI saves its attack paths in plain format so they can be read and perfectly (flip)mirrored by enemy AIs for their attack paths. Hmmm, mayb...

Soundfile is in the .zip, did you extract all files? Why I should do that when the obvious reason is the wrong filepath? Re: Toughest AI for turtlers
Jan and Feb did around BA 150 battles on DSD Revolution, AI vs AI and I'm sure that current RAI is the best. From 10 battles vs E323 he (acts more like man than pussy) won 6 to 8.

Re: Spring 87.0! 2nd Run!
We are obviously taking about different mod, I am talking about balanced annihilation where reclaim is 75% + of your eco. You might talk about 64v64 dsd where reclaim does not matter. There is a reason why there are only 10 people (included spec) playing BA right now. So is possible to make server ...

Re: Spring 87.0! 2nd Run!
So either this is a spring/windows bug, or just related to your setup. Could be, got another 'not saved settings' occurence on third pc with XP. The other two are with Win 7. btw the bug with stuck units could be fixable ... easily. just make a check for current position and queue of the unit in a ...

Re: Spring 86.0!
Well, no one defends Direct3D or OpenGL here. In fact modern videocard drivers are potent enough to deal with them. The problem is the way AAA titles using those APIs - usually gives me the feeling of things that they are made of poo (RAGE, BF3, Skyrim, *put some random hyped title here*)

Re: Spring 86.0!
0OGL is more powerful anyway. Well, OpenGL is 2D/3D API, but DirectX (as someone said this abbrev) is a general purpose API which can be successfully used (rly) even in commercial non-entertainment software. With open source solutions you need to be very carefull to stick all things to work as you ...
