Re: Tiberium code help
I think GetFeaturesInRectangle & friends never return nil. maybe for invalid coordinates? If there are no things in their area they seem to return {} (empty table) which is not the same as nil . I tested like: local i = 0 local j = 0 while (i < Game.mapSizeX / 16) do j = 0 while (j < Game.mapSiz...

Re: Intrusion
The file LuaRules/main.lua is the gadget-handler, it is "a Lua that makes the other gadget work." Usually one should not modify it and just include the version that comes with spring, via one line: VFS.Include("luagadgets/gadgets.lua",nil, VFS.BASE) Your main.lua correctly does t...

Re: Total Annihilation 2 is alive
Games like Diablo 2 are a nightmare to some companys. Without shop. Without stop. Endless procedural fun. Such workings eat into the industry as a whole. I still see Diablo II case in the supermarket. That means that 14 years after release, it is still sold enough to warrant shelf space. I would sa...

Re: Is anyone using these cameras?
Different cameras are useful for movies. One can set different speeds for each cam which is useful for moving cameras because otherwise you only have three speeds. (normal, hold ctrl, hold shift) That is helpful when trying to do moving cameras. During recording a superslow scrollspeed can be useful...

Re: Stockpile API?
There is Spring.SetUnitStockpile & Spring.GetUnitStockpile
The commandID is CMD.STOCKPILE ( http://springrts.com/wiki/Lua_CMDs ) in case you want to block the command or something.

less obvious benefits imo:
-demonstration to potential customers
-test which sites are "spam friendly" (does it work, how long it takes to get deleted, see if people reply ec)
-mix advertisment with seemingly legit text, to confuse word-statistics-based filters

Re: Total Annihilation 2 is alive
There is complete games too, but they felt less "informative" than techdemos. Think even from the techdemos it is clear that such complex things are not done with GUI editor but via scripting. (appearently called "galaxy" and "andromeda") http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...

Re: Total Annihilation 2 is alive
I also know nothing about Starcraft 2 modding except that original SC had quite some original custom games. (technically maps with lots triggers) One limit was that all scripting had to be done via the trigger-menu-GUI thing in editor and one could not make completly new units. Also custom GUI was n...

This thread is getting whack, freestyle ego rap for the sake of taking a selfie... Now where is the mic... So, let's forget my project, forget the idea, forget the engines, forget the IP, and forget me. How does a non-programmer get a team together and make a game? Currency works in the proprietary...

Happy birthday. :-) Can you sing this song? http://www.volksmusik.cc/lieder/images/MeiliaberBua.gif How about this one? http://www.musicalion.com/files/scores/26977.gif Which song's melody do you like more? Which one has the better lyrics? Unless you have learned to read notes, it is impossible to a...

Re: SLDB: Personal TrueSkill history graphs
Yes, I understood that already. Hence my question was: "Would be interessting to see graph of some new player who started at beginning of logging, if there is an upwards trend." I want to see a graph that does not follow this appearently common pattern: Either byy someone posting his own g...

Re: SLDB: Personal TrueSkill history graphs
Cool. Is there a list of all players who have allowed others to view their stats? Might be interessting to compare graphs. So far all graphs I've seen start with "narrowing down" and then remain fairly constant. Maybe because it is all long-time players whose skill does not change anymore....

The side loads but after pasting an infolog and submitting, there is just a white page?
(tested with real infolog and dfgdgdfg jibberish which iirc used to give "not a valid log" message)

[blog] Feature-make-up to hide map heightmap pimples
Sometimes maps have pimples where units get stuck all the time. For example hovercraft often have this problem when trying to climb from water up a shore. Or the other way around, there might be a narrow invisible path up a cliff that is not supposed to be there. F2_map.jpg (why does this not show a...

I never got to resources with Java-AI but seems getResourceMake should be correct. Do you pass it valid resourceID? Maybe this is helpful? How do you draw features? I do it like this https://github.com/gajop/Scenario-Editor-Core/blob/master/scen_edit/state/rotate_feature_state.lua#L83-L92 . Always had issues with applying textures... would just post it but it is on different computer, so in meantime: I tried like gl.Texture(1, "%...
