I'm inclined to agree with lurker here. My thought is to enable the change and then patch over the units that get substantially different.lurker wrote:Is it really worth respecing parts of balance that depend on units being difficult to control?

Re: Arm Juno - default fire at will: fires moving enemy units
Why did you even build a juno? xD i had few seconds of free time, just joking around so i felt like building it since it was near the super fusion reactor in buildlist. its actually good tactic on porcy maps... you make 20 of junos and then repeat on with the attack to every possible spot on map, s...

That's a very good idea. Might be doable with the current LOS widget by just giving it a useless weaponWombat wrote:i dont want to read whole topic, so i dont know if it was mentioned, but could someone add camerars LOS range while marked? (like turrent) thx

Re: Orcone
Main problem with arm t3 is by the time a game gets to this point there is usually quite a few LRPC on the map, which is where arm fail. Their t3 get sniped down much faster then core and generally fail at advancing and combating enemy t3 because of this. I'm not sure I believe this. LRPC do more b...

AIs that require config files are serious usability problems
Trying out a practice game vs bots is a serious challenge to new users. For most users, their sole experience with AAI is to cause an instant crash during single player. They have no information about which AI is better, so they just pick the one at the top. Unless the mod ships a config file, they'...

Re: Fresh Eyes Blog
If AAI's gonna crash unless the mod supports it (by writing a config file) then we should stop shipping AAI in the default install and start bundling it with mods.

Re: Orcone
The ARM has no super -heavy land units. That's my point. The T3 units are all *moderately* strong units, which are too weak to send alone. The CORE has two such units. The Krogoth and the Juggernaut can carve huge holes into the enemy's base alone. After all is said and done, I miss the Orcone, and...

Re: switch out cegs for nanoparticles
These levels would correspond naturally to the 'particle saturation' (that is, current number of particles divided by maximum number of particles) at which they stop being spawned, e.g. Low = stop spawning if particlesSaturation > 0.5, Medium = stop spawning if particlesSaturation > 0.75, High = st...

Should units remember their attack target after new order?
So, you're microing some tanks. You tell them to target a particular enemy unit that you need killed first. But you also need to move them to the flank. The problem is, as soon as you tell them to move again, they forget their attack order and go back to default targeting. If you're fighting mixed u...

Re: vulcan / buzzsaw don't fire
Anyway, am I crazy for thinking the Vulcan and Buzzsaw should come with enough energy storage to fire them for at least one second? (18K and 21K respectively) I think it is pretty "user hostile" for us to assume that people will know to build an advanced energy storage if it isn't in the ...

I mean like the volume of the sound becomes softer once you move away from the source with your camera. But I don't think it is a bug: both me and a friend have the problem while we have totally different computers. That sounds like a bug. The specific problem is that the "make sounds software...

Wombat learn the quote tag what a bs it is... Re: The BA Economy Balance Spreadsheet
If you're metal stalling by definition you have excess build power. You should never reclaim an econ unit unless you are metal stalling, which means you can spare some of that excess build power to do the reclaiming. I don't see how you could credibly claim otherwise. I'm not going to argue with yo...

Re: The BA Economy Balance Spreadsheet
The Fark is fast. If you're using it to assist L2 conbots, you're using it wrong - you should be using L1 conbots for that, or nanotowers if traffic is an issue. Hell, iirc they even chain. This is the thing - if it's for repair, Rectors are better. If it's for reclaim, Rectors are better. If it's ...
