I have to agree- 7 or 8 sides would be better. I dont know why no one ever uses odd numbers of sides for round objects-I find they work very well. Also, its no big deal really, but it was actually intentional that the BA-64 model only had one headlight and none on the right side. Cut production cost...

Mobile anti-aircraft seems too effective vs infantry. It can out range anti-tank, tank bullets, and can outrun infantry, avoiding being swarmed. A single truck can take out huge amounts of infantry until you get a lucky mortar shot.

Stuff just dosent explode like it used to

Is it just me, or do units not really explode at all when they die anymore? Usually there is a minuscule puff of smoke as the model is replaced my the wreckage model. Sometimes there are bits of wreckage that fly off, which looks cool when it happens, but gets kind of old. Nothing actually makes a f...

Thanks. Its strange, this only took me about half as much time and effort as either of my other 2 submissions, but it has gotten more response than the other 2 combined.

To rattle: That's just the angle of the picture, from a dead-on view it clearly misses.

Optimus, the one thing I dont like about your model is the round "arms" that attach the main hull to the bays(?). I think something a little more complicated and less streamlined would look cooler and fit better with the ship. Other than that, I like it. Kinetic, I really like you design. ...

Im not sure how many people are willing to make a complete unit including animation for you when they dont even know what the mod is.

I may be wrong tho.

Dash's second entry looks like win for replacing the Holder, if it had a more solid-looking tower. 1700 polys for a Holder!? Are you sure about that? Anyway here's the model, do with it what you want. http://www.savefile.com/files/311819 I made the tower get much larger at the base. BTW, the smooth...

Argh - is 16 sided cylanders, cones, ect. enough to be smooth in spring? Or do I need to go to 31? A lot of your stuff is nice and smooth, so I want to be consistent. That depends on the physical size of the object your talking about. Very small details can look round with only 6 or 7 sides. I dont...

Here is my second try. Perhaps some sort of semi-levitating concept where the supports hold it in place while some sort of "energy column" holds the weight.

Heres something I just did pretty quickly. I didnt realize you were going for the completely unconventional until I looked back at your post, so I went more for the super-sturdy look.

Sorry if this is too related to the balance issues you were trying to avoid talking about, but if there is one thing in FF that I think needs changing, it's this. The huge anti-capital ship weapons should miss fighters far more often than they do. This would add to both realism and balance, and it h...
