Winning the main isle wasn't always the deciding factor in 1vs1s. I've seen lots of demos where people were driven off, but made a comeback because they had lots of carriers, floating metal makers for economy and tons of pelicans/hawks. In these cases they'd developed the isle quite well before they...

OTA could only handle 250 units without a hack. At the moment most of the best Spring players seem to be European. So thats why I was suggesting something like 18.00hrs GMT. It's not too late for the Germans, Scandanavians and not too early for the French/Dutch/UK people. TBH, if you want Ameicans i...

OK, here's my idea on how this mod could be more fun and balanced. Make the mechs move alot faster, and have alot less armour. It'd be cool to have more dodging and dynamic play. Make it so that you have to force fire, and you can judge your shots accordingly. No just clicking on the enemy unit. Mak...

Wooohooo! XTA and EE aren't as badly affected by the friendly fire because the defences aren't that powerful. And the people playing those mods tend to be more experienced and don't pick choke point maps. AA would be a thousand times better with friendly fire. It'll be interesting to see if Cadyr im...

Automated reporting isn't that essentiel for now. I mean, we're going to get games where people disconnect after 3 minutes, or someone comm bombs after 3 minutes.. or both players commanders blow up at the same time.. you might have to replay the game. Or have it reviewed by the judges. I might just...

Speedmetal with good players takes too long. That wouldn't be a viable option. The more talented players out there go for non-choke point maps anyway. Trust me, from seeing all the OTA tournaments, they need to not go on for more than a day. Otherwise people lose interest. If you're going to have 20...

Regular Sunday Tournaments?
[WarC]N0iZE set up some brackets this evening and we had a little tournament. http://members.home.nl/sangers/TourneySignup.jpg How about we do this every Sunday at 18.00 GMT? We play small maps, and have one round per match. That way it doesn't drag on too much and people don't lose interest. Just t...

It would be nice if there was some sort of quality control on the maps though. If the quality of the map list was higher we'd get hosts trying new maps. Who's going to bother trawling through all the crap in the list and discovering the good stuff? There are well made maps in that list, but they're ...

Friendly Fire
Has there been any progress on this feature? I know Gnome had a solution, but it needs cleaning up.
I'm creating a mod at the moment and It's something I'd like to incorporate. Plus, it'd take the OTA and SWTA mods from about 50% balanced to 95% balanced.

This game is too sophisticated to write a neat forum post that sums up the strategy. There are too many variables. You really just have to play with good people, and you pick it up that way. The major pointers would be 1. expand and 2. attack. Most newbies in this game play too many porc maps so the...

My favourite bands are Interpol and Les Savy Fav. My favourite emcee is MF Doom. If Manson was such a talented composer how come most of the tunes he played when I saw him were covers? Plus, he simply cannot sing. That said, he works a crowd well, and is a very intelligent, articulate guy from what ...

I have a couple of ideas: 1) There are a couple of mirrors of the map list up at the moment. Maybe if we had one of them linked to the Spring client for 10 days, then the next one for 10 days, they wouldn't exceed their bandwidth for the month too eacily. 2) There's an official map list that's linke...
