Re: Wiki pages about callins
Thanks that is what I needed. I now found the reference page containing it (http://springrts.com/wiki/Lua_SyncedRead), seems it will be usefull in the future.

Re: Wiki pages about callins
Thanks for the answers. Maybe you could put a warning on Lua:Callins page so that people don't get the wrong idea (would do it myself, but you are the page creator and you edited the most). Regarding the callin that got me into this problem: is unitdefid considered not available information for Unit...

[SOLVED]Wiki pages about callins
In page: http://springrts.com/wiki/Lua_Scripting there is a link to http://springrts.com/wiki/Lua:Callins. There, you can find for example: "addon.UnitEnteredLos(unitID, unitTeam, allyTeam, unitDefID)" On page http://springrts.com/wiki/LuaCallinReturn there is "UnitEnteredLos() --> &q...

Re: Yes, because years of hard work and persistence had noth
For me the word "politics" is not a bad thing. A quote from wikipedia, politics = " organized control over a human community". So, if we include that definition in what knorke said, evorts is advertised instead of spring because of how control is excerted over engine and games. A...

Re: Forum looks bad
In "Linux" can not see the dot on i etc. Not a "generic" linux problem. For me Arch (firefox 29), CentOS 6.5 (firefox 26) display fonts nicely (and before the latest change they did the same). On the other hand, the preview problem I think it was already there even before the la...

I checked on 4 computers (Arch, CentOS, Windows 7 and Windows 8 ) and the fonts looked normal/ok for me.

Re: Replacing URLs in databases and serialised PHP
You cannot, multisite installations are the prime example, but keep in mind what goes into WP Core by default, has to work by default, for everyone. WordPress is used by a lot of people, and those edge cases carry with them a lot of people, you can't just break a few hundred thousand blogs because ...

Re: Replacing URLs in databases and serialised PHP
Using constants in a multisite environment where a single installation handles multiple websites at different URLs does not scale. I do not have a multi-site environment. I probably do not have what you call "edge cases". My feeling is that insist that Wordpress way(s) are "better&qu...

Re: Replacing URLs in databases and serialised PHP
Malric, frankly you aren't helping. Worse, your information is incorrect :-( Which information is incorrect? My point is that I do not like that there is an (external) plugin to do that operation and I personally prefer a configuration parameter. abma seems to have a similar opinion (although his u...

Re: Replacing URLs in databases and serialised PHP
Also keep in mind WordPress is not the only major CMS to store the URL in the database. Perhaps then you need to ask why?. I interacted with Joomla and my impression it is that it does things differently. References: http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/joomla-3/site-settings/changing-url-joo...

Re: Replacing URLs in databases and serialised PHP
Come on dude... Myself and AF work for companies using this exact same method creating sites for multimillion dollar corporations (some of the ones I've done recently are likely household names to you) and somehow or another the spring site is what... So special that the same methods used by large ...

Re: The Website: jKs Site Changes
Now these data uris are quite long, but the point remains. Introducing horizontal scrolling makes code very difficult to read because lines that would normally wrap will no longer wrap and will instead be covered up by the right edge, making the user horizontally scroll to read even relatively shor...

Re: The Website: jKs Site Changes
So, should we report what we see 'wrong' on http://test.springrts.com/? For a start the header looks a bit wrong - notice the 2 shades of colors where the arrow is pointing .Guess there is something that is not scaled and looks "strange". The place where it appears depends on the window si...

Re: Lua "tutorial" guide..blob thing?
Indeed I think there is place for new tutorials on gadgets/widgets (I have played a bit with that recently and looked into what is available and it was a bit confusing). I agree with most of what gajop said. Also (mixing questions with suggestions): there should be references for things that are not...

Re: Some dead links in Lua wiki section
I removed the old links as based on the comments they are not available and, if anybody wants to make something similar, adding a link is very easy.
Edit: in fact for widget database I found a working link at http://widgets.springrts.de/, so I just replaced the old one.

Some dead links in Lua wiki section
In the wiki (part related to lua), there are some currently dead links: to springinfo (in http://springrts.com/wiki/Lua_Scripting there is http://answers.springlobby.info/). Is there any replacement for this or should it be removed? to springinfo (in http://springrts.com/wiki/Lua:WidgetDirectory the...

Re: Remove AIs
there is no sense in disabling an existing functionality in favour of no tangible benefit. I think the request is about not packaging all the AI-s with all the games, which leads to big confusions when some AI-s do not work with some games. I think every game should pack it's own (tested) AI that w...

Maybe put a message in the report form explaining when you do not want a report? The people that saw this thread got the idea, but maybe there are others that will not see it.
