brainstorm NoobHelpBot that does keywrod scanning of sentences in #noob channel and if someone says "can someone help" or w/e, it PMs them giving link to forums and FAQ, or asks them to wait so someone can be around soon to help them Also, maybe ping or send email or something to registere...

How about integrating damn voting mechanisms and voting interface into lobby spec/prot so that the chat screen isn't cluttered with inane voting messages and hundred WAITING 4 VOTES messages.

Wave prot is built off XMPP ; it should be robust enough to scale to forum size if optimized correctly. it's incredibly likely that a a bunch of places will write a system anyway to unify chat/forum/wiki w/ wave anyway. actually, only thing that is sprign specific would be to rewrite lobby and chat ...

Any thought given to using Wave prot in next version of spring lobby? Could we use it to kill off PHPBB and save ourselves some headache, and unify chat/boards, keeping some chans open as board-types, some chans as real-time types?

Sounds like we could benefit from a good server admin / php admin tweaking apache settings a bit and offloading some stuff to nginix/lighthtppd or whatever.... the numbers are looking way too high for the kind of load these forums bear.
