Re: Zero-K wants you!
Zero-K together with Kernel Panic are the two games I would love to contribute to. But that would be past the foreseeable future. Unfortunately.. But at some point I will drop a big chunk of that 'real work' stuff I have been doing past years and join in on the fun. I promise! Just make sure there i...

Re: Where is the engine going?
Roadmap.. I made one once, that worked ok - it got people talking. The developer meetings are good, maybe someone can extract a roadmap from that at some point. Anyway, personally I have always believed that content development should be done next to the engine and inside the a revision control syst...

Re: Kernel Panic Logo Title
I couldn't help myself, had to spend a few hours on it. This is not intended as a final logo, just a few try-outs. Maybe someone likes it as inspiration and works on it further. http://timblokdijk.nl/spring/Kernel%20Panic/logo/flowRoot7243.png http://timblokdijk.nl/spring/Kernel%20Panic/logo/flowRoo...

The "Subversion & Git Repositories" forum
Hello people, There's a "Subversion & Git Repositories" forum, it was created to remove "noise" generated by non-contributing members from vital development discussions. At the moment it's more or less collecting dust, so my question is what to do with it, how to do it and wh...

Re: Mac OS X Snow Leopard test release
@Belmakor, I tested your release and it works good on: MacBook Pro 5,4 Intel Core 2 Duo 2,53 Ghz 4 GB Memory Nvidia GeForce 9400M 256 MB 1440 x 900 Only issue I had was that Kernel Panic's own in game menu won't load the actual game. I guess some functionality is lacking there. Spring1944 looks real...

Wikipedia
Just a heads up. The Wikipedia article on the Spring Project is up for deletion. Essentially the Wikipedia people think that "Spring" is not notable enough. There are not enough independent sources around that mention Spring. No real reviews, interview or other stuff. Second problem is the...

Re: Spring domain guidelines
Why dont you just edit NS records to point to springrts then? We can just run bind there. The current registar won't allow me (the end user) to edit NS records, so I would have to contact them for that or move the domain to a registar that allows me to edit the NS records. But it's a lot of trouble...

Re: Spring domain guidelines
The policy I'm following now is that if someone needs me to alter the dns records I include you (that's Tobi) in the loop. If Tobi agree's I alter the records. But I'm also fine with following a more fancy policy if we define one. If this is a really pressing issue I can look into giving Tobi direct...

Re: Spring domain guidelines
Anyone with a root account on the server can add sub-domains. Currently the domains are configured like this: Name Type Content Ttl *.springrts.com CNAME springrts.com 86400 springrts.com A 94.23.170.70 14400 *.springrts.org CNAME springrts.org 86400 springrts.org A 94.23.170.70 14400 I intend to se...

Re: Spring domain guidelines
Nothing should have a "bus factor" of one. The registered domain has, yes? I have an agreement with Tobi to transfer the domains to a spring foundation if we set one up at some point. Or transfer the domains to Tobi with the "gentleman agreement" to use the domains primarily for...

Spring domain guidelines
There are some agreements between me and Tobi about how the Spring domains can be used. These might not have been communicated that well to the relevant people so I'm going to write down a few guidelines to prevent problems in the future. The most important is that springrts.com, .org & net can ...

Ok, that's fine. rattle just send me a 'pm' asking if the site can be moved from trunk, he did not suggest a new dir structure but he likes it moved as it's not needed for building spring.. I think it's smart to forward this issue to you. As for the site, the coding is done but it still needs conten...

About the big circus that is greatly intimidating, that's not true, I actually think the main reason for this perception is that you are very vocal about any potential disadvantage. Not that I don't appreciate your input, it has allowed me to get on top of quite a few details. But it's the extensive...

And why would it not work to get a dedicated person for this? We have loads of dedicated people for specific parts of the project. You need to put up a minimal site content and provide the tools to let the community collectively edit and update the content in their own time at their own pace. Minima...

I started this topic to get a non-coder to do non-coding stuff for the site in development, so that I can keep my focus on the code part. This was a month ago. This more or less failed as nobody really picked up on it. So.. I'm left with a choice here, I can continue to spend my time on getting an a...

There is really not a single good reason to delay the translation system to 2.1. As it's already in place and feature complete. It's more work to replace it with hard coded text then to fix a few bugs people may find. SinbadEV indicated that he would like to use it, dropping it now would exclude him...

http://newspring.clan-sy.com/ Look, no language, you haven't checked properly if a language is set, hence what my code does. Ps. your code is overly complicated for simply setting a language! I get a language here so you found a bug, can you tell me how you language preferences are configured in yo...
