Re: TASclient annoyance
Well.. it's not so much a matter of what browser gets opened when you click a link.. it's rather that the IE engine is used to render at all (inside TASclient)!

Re: BA 6.6 commander explosion too loud
Everybody can install it already, by creating a "sounds" folder in your spring install directory and putting that soundfile in it. It'll override the sound from the mod

Make sure the whole window is on the screen before the connection to the host is establish.. or disable 3D trees.. or in case you use windows update your Nvidia driver (fixed for me since 178.24).

Yes.. it has. And it uses "!balance" instead of "!cbalance" -> useless?lurker wrote:For anyone reading that does not know, springie does have a !manage command; people just tend to not use it at all.

Re: SPADS AutoHost
I'd like to try and help testing Spads. I sent you a private message as you asked above.
I do like the idea of using perl instead of mono and I love the idea to run an autohost without X.
Thanks for your effort!

Re: Advanced Players List widget
first option is ok, second one is not (author commented /info for a reason, which is that it sux to show /info on widget shutdown). Now i have to commend it out manually from 5.22, as it is back in. Please comment it out in new ver. It's much more newbie friendly to have at least the /info show if ...

Re: Springie the AutoHost
oh.. I (mono newbie) gave up figuring out which backports packages to use.. I would have thought that Novell's official installer (from http://ftp.novell.com/pub/mono/archive/1.9.1/linux-installer/2/) brought everything that is needed.. no? Maybe I'll try another day. You don't happen to have an adv...

Re: Springie the AutoHost
I know about these presets.. but I can't find a Option to set f.e. preset 5 as default (so that it gets loaded direct after springie is started) anywhere I dont think thats worth implementing. Mods have default set correctly and if you need something extra you can apply it after you start springie....

Re: Medieval RTS?
I really like the idea of a medieval mod for Spring. How about you explain which aspects of Stronghold you mean? Especially if you plan units with hand-to-hand combat (melee) or not.

Starting positions (fixed=random) & map.smd overriding
Summary: - "random start positions" = "fixed start positions" - overriding map.smd in map.sd7 no longer works [/i] Details: Hello, I lured a few friends to Spring and they like this game just as much as me :) They are newbies of course and a bit afraid to play big games against ...

Re: AI player positioning
I used to extract the smd file, modify it and place it beside the map.sd7. This used to override the included smd and thus override start positions without the need of every player to have it. Has this stopped working?
