Re: Autohosts operating non-downloadable engines

Locked, too much vitriol and too little productive activity.

Autohost owners on 104.0.1+xyz are encouraged to update their hosts to the stable 105 release.

Re: Pro and anti Discord

@abma, you are the last person out of active spring developers not using Discord.
To be fair, he is on Springs matrix, which is bridged. I think I might be the most "active" person with the honour of (since ~6 month ago) being on neither.

Re: The end of the maintenance branch

You simply won't find any better candidate to release as 105/stable.
+1 from me, and GL update gets renamed 106.

Nice work. I guess PepeAmpere means if the max unit/player/smth number limits will change - and afaik no.

Re: More "BA" questions, split from The end of the maintenance branch

Not really - the engine devs made their decision, made a small number of civil posts explaining it, and had nothing more to say then or since. Afaics for them what matters is the future of 104->105 and the need to either (1) use more modern openGL or (2) call time on the whole engine project. Unlike...

Re: More "BA" questions, split from The end of the maintenance branch

zeroK used outdated engines in the past, did I miss the big outcry Seems you didn't realize that engine developers were very unhappy with that situation, for years, and at times reduced the amount of cooperation they gave to ZK. Kudos to all those who eventually got out of that mess, using hard wor...

3) springlobby does some pop-up about no user-agreement existing on server

Joke by mando towards the Spring devs draconian overreach
Lol no, its just the default message when no user agreement exists.

Re: Impossible to LOGIN

Enough blathering, there is no major issue here e.g. in the last 24h, 20 accounts were created, 19 successfully verified, the remaining 1 seems to have used a fake email address. On uberserver side: I'll look at bug reports via github when they have proper logfiles etc attached, but I'm not offering...

Re: Detection of Metal Makers

The gadget can set the unit on/off property (in fact, iirc, that's how this gadget works). An AI can see this.

I guess what may not be made "public info" by the gadget is the ratio/efficiency of the conversion.

Re: [misc] upgrading to phpbb 3.3.1 aka the upgrade hell

I suggest less thought about warning notifications and more thought about bus factors - which imo are dangerously low for the engine & its supporting infra. Sadly it's unreasonable to expect abma to "find" a successor for himself & also unlikely that any single person could manage ...

Re: [misc] upgrading to phpbb 3.3.1 aka the upgrade hell

- restart services and see which one broke:
- lobby server
Seems OK, systemctl restart worked. (Also, lobbyserver uptime was 112 days, longest for a long while.)

Re: bridge timeout

I don't think anyone has stolen your u/p, just your login session somehow reached a zombiefied state inside twistedserver and couldn't fully leave. You should be able to login normally again now. If it ever appears again I'll look at it more closely.

Re: bridge timeout

I did some more experiments, I think uberserver (or perhaps twisted, which is the network lib underneath) must be at least partly responsible, give me a bit of time to investigate. If you could post the exact message you get when trying to login, that would be useful.

Re: bridge timeout

I think is a client behind it, or at least the IRC bridge may think that there is. Uberserver clients that don't send PINGS are dc-ed after about a minute, and all clients are dc-ed after 14 days. I kicked them both and "zwzsg[IRC]" immediately logged back in, but "zwzsg" didn't.

Re: owner status needed to change BA team and logo

@Masterbel: That is quite some effort, thank you - I hope Ares & others find it useful. It does seem to confirm, again, that a repo/commit log of who did what work when to BA9.70+11 doesn't exist. In any case, as said in great detail, I am interested to see what happens in the future, more than ...

Re: Request for BA repo transfer from Bluestone

I think we reached the end of this road. You have full commit access, you can make official releases, use it or don't, your choice. Atm I don't trust you enough to give more, if in time you generate some commit logs of actual work & don't make endless dramas about it, in time we can talk again. ...
