i'm using the minimal portable windows version to test this and sometimes it hangs when trying to start a single player game. But after i close it i can try again on the same game and map and it works.

Anyone else got this?

spring 96.0 crashes before starting on flooded valley v2

Before finishing the loading process spring 96.0 crashes and shows an "access violation" popup on a specific map (flooded valley v2), but others work fine.

game is xta 9.74.

Seems to be on "Initializing Map Features" step.

happens in xta 9.74 as well, not a game issue. But isn't metal factions very similar to xta? Just thought that if it is, then the two tests are not linearly independent... i played vs AI on my game and it worked. when i press alt-b, GameController:Draw and the ShadowHandler:CreateShadows are shown taking up 99% cpu and 87% cpu respectively, even at the start of the game (doesn't seem to grow as the unit numbers increase).
