Re: OverKillHost1 Please stop spamming #main
@gajop What overkillhost* is doing should not be confused with advertising. The later is when an autohost prints "players needed for ..." in reasonably-spaced intervals. However, if you do decide to mute all the bots in main, then I propose the following: 1) An official method of advertisi...

Re: Why does spring 103 dedicated use so much cpu?
How did it fail? Perhaps backport the fix to 103.0?
I believe those Zero-K people are also running servers on Windows, perhaps ask them?
Alternatively, there is always the option of switching to GNU+Linux, or maybe make a GNU+Linux VM....

PepeAmpere[NOTA]/NOTA team takeover of Spring:1944 and breaking rules and violating the GPL
As you may or may not be aware, there have been ~4 autohosts hosting two nonexistant versions of Spring: 1944 for months: 0+1/16 | s44notAhost001 | Spring 1944 beta-170108 | 1944_Cooper_Hill_v3 | developers of the WWII (CE) | 0+1/16 | s44notAhost002 | Spring 1944 2.31 | 1944_Moro_River_V1 | Europe a...

Wouldn't this be very, very game specific though? And does Nemo's zombies not solve this in one way already (that is probably much more user friendly than writing Lua).

I believe the current workaround is to replace those GL_POINTS with GL_LINES. It works, but is not pretty.

A screenshot too.
I am slowly working on a proper fix to this as I have an Intel GPU and I cannot see these dotted yellow circles either.

Re: Whitelists instead of Banlists for hosts
I don't think email verification will stop trolls. However it might turn out great in combination with sending emails to those who had not been seen on the lobby for over two weeks...as a reminder that spring exists and to lure them back in :)

@azaremoth do you want this or not?
If this is desired then the following could work: "~The\ Cursed\ \d+\.\d+". Right now SPADS is configured with "~The\ Cursed\ 1\.(\S+)" for unknown reason.

Re: Latest "The Cursed" available here
Maplist added. Right now I'm not entirely sure what tactics to use for gaining players. But I'm pretty sure that once someone is interested enough in the game to go through the terrible ordeal (/s) of getting onto the lobby server, the empty rooms are a big turn-off. Additionally, I'm not sure wheth...

Re: Matrix.org aka riot bridging
While I'm not particularly impressed by their choice of using Python, Matrix would still present a step forward in reliability, scalability and security. And there are (alpha) server implementations in Rust, which, while still nowhere near Ada, can still be designated as acceptable.

Re: Latest "The Cursed" available here
Now the autohost has a manual autoupdater (lol) and is running latest again. What is needed now (and I cannot produce myself) is: - a list of recommended/working maps for this game (I've started adding maplists to my other hosts) - Azaremoth to start playing their own game (if you want to attract pl...

Re: Why does spring 103 dedicated use so much cpu?
I run autohosts on GNU/Linux and have not noticed them going past maybe 1-2% CPU use. Server-side spring can run in two modes: dedicated and headless. The first is a simple relay and the second runs full sim (used for server-side bots and such). It might be that yours is compiled/runs in headless mo...

Re: Spring1944 website
spring1944.org as well.
On a side note: just make the site and then we'll figure out how to transfer to it. If nothing else we'll bug Nemo (who afaik still has access to "the site") to add an http redirect.

What do you find as obscene? "An obscenity is any utterance or act that strongly offends the prevalent morality of the time." There are likely many of us here that live in a different culture and hence have different morals. It would be excellent if you could explicitly define what you con...

Re: Visited to spec a few games from a long time, revolted by the community
For everything that happens inside autohosts, you need the autohost owner to set the permissions for users/admins/etc in their SPADS config. Subcategories, etc, are all possible. If existing hosts are not interested in cooperating, you can set up your own. If existing hosts are not interested in co...
